Dillinger's Replacement Flags

INFORMATION:
Nothing too fancy, just quickly made some USA and Germany WWII Flags, with added wear and tear on them (including the neutral flag), to replace the default DoD:S Flags.

Objective Icons coming soon.

INSTALLATION:

Extract the mapmodels folder to your C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\yourusername@host.com\day of defeat source\dod\materials\models (if materials and/or materials\models folder does not exist, create it)

Directory structure should look like this:
F:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\yourusername@host.com\day of defeat source\dod\materials\models\mapmodels\flags

Great work Dillinger. One thing though, that American flag is a 50 star flag. Could you please make one with a 48 star flag? Its just something that always irks me.

I would use them if your American flag had 48 stars. I'm not usally that concerned about realism, but I have never been able to stand 50 star flags in any WWII game, sorry.

If you embark on making some icons, plz do some for the axis part in form of the iron cross (the squared ones, red white black) instead of the swastika.

Thxz! I planned on this. The only swastica I've ever used in custom content was on the Germany WWII Battleflag. I'm not too big on having the swastica splattered all over the game, realistic or not.

Just what I was thinkin; most skinners use the party flag and/or to much use of the swastika.
geno has a point there; 48 instead of 51 stars would be historicly correct along side the german battleflag.
Anyway, much better then the original dod flags.

My first custom to the DoD-s looks very nice!

Those flags look brilliant. Once I get dod sauce back they will definitely go in.

Great job Dill. Although, im not liking the U.S. flag all that much. It's too "crisp" and the white bars are too well...white.

Don't have any plans to work on source. Not that much time to do so anyway. Also, i don't play dod:s that much so there wouldn't be any reason for me to spend much time on customizing the game.
Hopefully, something in the future will interest me enough to get back to dod work. :)

I guess. I went by the "enhanced" picture when i posted. Noticed the animated pictures and the white looks more uniform.

I am very sorry to hear that we will not be blessed by your work...or at least for the time being. As it seems that by DoD:G's end all of my weapons were all your work :p.
