Could be usefull for drawing up rough layouts really quickly.

Um Did you guys read the desc? You can actually MAKE a map in the program, then import it to Hammer to finish off the editing and compiling.

It's a pretty nifty idea.. the only thing about this kind of "quickie" program that I see is that after the release of it, we'll see a major influx of "crppy" maps.
But who knows? Maybe they'll turn out alright.

Wow thats really cool, I always do that sort of thing with Hammer anyways and it'd be much easier to use this program. Although does it do the Z axis? I always try to make multi tiered maps. Anyone speak french here?

There's plenty at the moment anyway. But the more people mapping the better. What i meant was, you could build the general layout in 3D, really quickly, and use that as referance rather than a scribble (in my case), then add your fine detail later.

Quoted from the bottom of the linked page:

Hi Friends, from www.hl2spain.com comes this incredible project made by Spanish people. It is a program that makes it easier to create Half-Life maps than in Hammer (VALVe's official editor). At the moment, the program is not ready to be downloaded, but when the program is ready, people will be able to download this program for free. The great thing about it is that it is in 2D and anybody can create maps without learning Hammer. The screenshots are of the same map, created in MAPPED! and edited in Hammer.

Anyway, we hope that once you create a map in MAPPED!, it will be editable in both. At the moment, you can't work in multilevel, but in the future you can use multilevel. At the moment there is no set release date, but the programmers are working nonstop to finish the program. When there is news of this program, I will translate into english and if someone wants to ask something, I will translate into spanish and ask the programmers.

See you soon. Bye.
