Missing map model on dod_forest?

Well after running around dod_forest for a while, the Axis had pushed us back towards our first flag. Well I wanted to defend it to the death so I went searching for the mortar, but nay one was there.

I looked on the minimap, the big map and It shoulda been right where I was standing, then I just kinda started spamming my use key in the general area and found the invisible mortar.

Just a question, am I the only one who is experiencing this? And if not, is there a fix for this?

Hehe, I was wondering too why the Axis had a mortar at their first flag and the Allies didn't.

Yea the origin of the allied mortar got down into the ground and so it's not drawn. Didn't notice it until it was too late.

Re: the trees. They didn't get put "too low in the ground". All models have one point that all vis is calculated from. The model may extend up quite a bit from that point, but if the origin (where the env_model is located) is not visible, the model is not drawn. The only way to prevent the dropouts is to completely remove the model, make a new one with the origin up in the air (not a bad idea actually), or of course make the tree float up in the air :^)

Gotta love ouitz_tree1.mdl and it's "tree_high_origin" animation ;)
