I find this to be a very useful tool, great for organic models, and saves hours of work, a must have in my eyes, only trouble is the free version is limited to 1000 triangles, but still worth having..:).

Here is a picture showing a quick head model i knocked up to test it out on. The red seam running up the back of the head is where i've unwelded the points. Then with a push of a button and 3 seconds later i have a good quality UV map for my head.

I've had a look at those plugins, but not tried them as yet, i'm still needing the HL2 SDK, before i can give them a go, which is why im still in limbo......:(.
