I just love it.

Thanks for the breakable wall in the castle for allied bazooka class... not telling where ;)

Download the map and find it yourself!

Nice work in the axis 1st and second 2nd flag area too.

It was a tough map... now it has more opportunitys.

EDIT: holy cow.. there are a lot more breakable walls than that one.. getting an axis sniper/mg in the church tower with a allied bazooka will be fun :)

I am waypointing it for ShrikeBot now... zooka class is fun on this.

I played it, and was not disappointed. It's not amazingly different from original Zafod though, and I wish that the bookend buildings at the bridge had more pathways, even if they weren't easily accessable. Original Zafod is a bottleneck/chokepoint map, so perhaps you'll consider adding even one more pathway to and from the bridge for both sides?

I also liked the way you added some hallways, rooms, and buildings throughout the map. The ability to change your attack points and approach is always a great asset to any map. On a less-obvious note, the map is not quite as dark it seems as the original, which will help cut down on the complaining that it generates.

I just need to point out that in this version there is a mistake with the spawn system, that I have just sorted out so I'll have to send the new version out soon... If there is anything that people would like me to change before I release the newer version tell me and I'll try it out.

Oh yeah...

Make the bridge blow able... two separate sections at both ends... two rocket charges to blow it.?

Leaving an island you have to swim to to cap.

A tunnel/sewer from each castle area into the water in the centre section?

That will make the snipers un-easy... sneak up on them from below :)

I just added that because of all the broken walls you have put in... may as well keep to that "theme" ... it makes using the bazooka class worthwhile :)

The blow-up-able bridge is an interesting idea, I might try that sometime. I'll wait until the map gets going first though, If it ever does. That would be a major gameplay change to the map I think and I don't want to change too much of zafod just yet, but in the future definately. The sewer idea is a cool one. I'll definately include that sometime, in my next release which will be b4, as b3 is coming out later today. When ozz uploads it :D.
Or I could release it sooner if there is someone who can upload for it me now :)

I just waypointed it for a bit of fun... this map definitely has got bazooka fun potential all over it :)

Few dod maps cater for this class.

One of the features of zafod is that centre bridge and the effort required to cap it back from the dominate team... or plain lucky team with a few well placed nades' at the map start, who got it first.

Your version of it doesn't have to follow the originals gameplay?

If you do something with the centre section to allow players to sneak up on mgers and snipers, I think it will open it up a bit... that is, if it is about being different or just a little tidy up. Up to you :)

Zafod is a little bit like switch... sometimes it gets to the centre and progression for both sides stop.

I added 2 little ramps that lead up into the axis/allies back of base from the water. Hopefully this will make the bridge struggle a little bit less of a snail race.
I'm just fixing up r speeds a bit now, for the next version.
At the mo I've just released b3 which has the ramps and a few changes. You can download it at.

Enjoy... and sorry about all the different versions so quickly :P
It's because I just keep thinking of new things and I have nothing better to do with my time than sit here for hours on end mapping

ROFL... that is too cool :)

The water fights in the pond will be intense!

I downloaded and went to spec mode...very nice, snipers beware :p

I am off to work now (6:00 am in Australia), I'll have a closer look in 10 hours... *sob*

Thanks, great effort :)

EDIT: Back from work!

I had a closer look at the changes so far... still impressed.

I saw the removed wall in the bunker past the second axis flag and the new hole from the trench... nice touch.

One comment about the ramps into the pond... can the water level be raised a bit, say to the pond level?

It looks possible for a opposing player to camp in the waist deep water, then withdraw back underwater when he hears someone on the ladder... or just wait with a gun, too easy to kill someone on a ladder.

If you flooded it they would have to return to the pond or surface near the bottom of the ladder for air :)

Pic of area under manhole (http://users.bigpond.net.au/clannwh/allies_ladder.JPG)

Here is another one of my long winded options in that area too... please forgive my lack of map making knowledge :)

By doing the following you also may build in a one way "gate" on an opposing sides manhole grill... an axis player will only be able to break the grill on the allies side ramp from the top... because you can't use a weapon on a ladder?

That is IF... you raised the ladder up a bit and made the entry to it from swimming under it, then narrowing down the side entry area.... if the other side doesn't break the grill you would have to swim back and go up the pond ladders.

I like it as it is but there are some suggestions if you want them :)

Thanks... nice job, I like the new work around the first and second flag areas on both sides... lots more places to knife and shovel.
