Black models

Ok I know this can happen but its very odd I compiled this map 100 times and it was fine, now all of a sudden it's doing the black models thing. From my understanding this is a lighting issue, mainly light gathered from brushes.

It is only doing it with the by_rubble_set.mdl. What would cause this to start all of a sudden, any ideas? I moved the models away from the brushes and it's still doing it. I am using zoners tools and that batch compiler. Is there any kind of setting to prevent this?

The models are clipped with a func wall with the wood texture also. The lighting on the clip brush is set to normal.

Make sure the origin is not in the ground or a solid brush.

If its in rubble cant you make the rubble brush a func_wall or something like that to keep it from happening.

also, remember that models get thier light from the world brush directly under thier origin. sometimes this happens when you have a brush entity under your model and have a null textured world brush under that. the brush entity is irrelevent, and the null textured world brush gives off no light, so your model is then black.

You might also have the clip opacity making a shadow underneath, so just be sure it's set to no opaque as well as textured/0.

I had this problem then I just raised the models origin up a fair way from the brush underneath and set it to "drop to floor"

worked

Looking at the picture, I believe this to be the problem. You can have the model in the rubble but make the rubble a func_wall.

GingerLord said the same thing:

He ment normal brush. If you make the brush an entity (func_wall) then it should be ok.

Haircut i believe you helped me with this problem on your website. The func_wall solved my problem then.
