ok, sometimes when i load a model, it gets all screwy, like for v_ models, the gun goes of somewhere, and one of the hands look like it's trying to play the piano (i suck at comparisons, but really, that's what it looks like).

any help jed?

This thread is worthless without pictures.

it is most likely not a problem with Jed's program, almost everyone here uses it. But like jed said, post some screen shots and it will help us help you.

(My guess is that it is the REF.smd, and that there is absolutely nothing "wrong" just how the DOD MDLs are stored)

;)

Something like this??

lol.

Usually hands being like that is the "reference" position and they havent been animated.

I would hazard a guess that you accidentaly exported your animation as a reference SMD or assigned a reference SMD to the sequence.

could be you changed an animation without redoing everything else, maybe, or possibly you have imported another model with all its bones and it has merged them, again maybe

lol i forgot to mention... i have a server on my comp, those are the default models O_o

Something has gone horribly horribly wrong... It looks like what happens when you accidentally "select all" in Milkshape3D and move a vertex but the bones are selected too (although not visible) and get moved with them.

That usually results in the "spiderman" effect you sometimes see in player models.

so jed, do you really know what went wrong? if so, could you please fix it for the next version?

Yeah, you moved a bone. I did that once and it stretched everywhere, so what I do in Milky is just hide the bones.

Sometimes if you use Milkshape to edit it and save it, it will compile wrong... just the nature of the beast.

you're not getting it. these are not in any shape or form a custom model...

THESE ARE THE DEFAULT MODELS, I HAVEN'T TOUCHED THEM!

Put the model somewhere where we can download it then. For all the users of HLMV and how many million MDL files have been opened with it, your the first to report any such problem.

OK. I opened the model from the GCF and the model you set me and they BOTH display and work fine in HLMV.

BillyNair

yeah, if these are the default MDLs about the only thing I can think of is that the HLMV got installed wrong (some times checksums and such miss)

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling? There are times when the fragments are just not right.
