With the eminent release of DoD Source, I thought I would release a map I "created."

Originally it was just a test of my skills to create a map, textures, sound files so I coul eventually embark on more original map ideas, but my clanmates persisted and eventually led to this creation.

Anyone who played the N64 knows that GoldenEye has to be one of the top multiplayer games ever created. It basically set the genre that evolved into Perfect Dark, Halo etc. Well one of my friends never played GoldenEye, so I thought it'd be fun to recreate my favorite map: Facility.

I spent numerous hours creating detailed textures and trying to copy the original layout (with a few modifications to make it more playable, seeing as how DoD is a team oriented game, not deathmatch).

Regardless I think anyone who played the N64 version will feel right at home. And the reason for the name being dod_chambers is I am uncertain as to whether RARE has any legal status over the name, so I used one of my friends names just in case.

If you like the map, great and feel free to drop by my clan's IRC channel at #visualgaming

Enjoy.

On a side note, I do plan on recreating the majority of the levels for DoD Source when they get released, just because mapping is fun. I also realize that the GoldenEye maps would be more suited for HL2DM, but I play DoD, so to bad.

I have just played this map online.
There are two problems.

1) Scale is too small. You have probably created it using official DoD size specifications. This is good for 3rd person viewing but for good fluid playing it should be made 133-150% of official player size. In current size corridors and doors seems too tight especially with larger number of players on server.

2) It worked worse than other maps. Because it is ade of small rooms with narrow corridors I think there is a bug somewhere. Are you sure that compile log has no warnings ?
