Resource folder questions

Is there anyway to setup the server to download custom files from the resource folder in the dod directory on the server, to a client's dod directory?

I've been trying unsucessfully to transfer some files using a map's .res file.

Essentially I'm trying to get custom classmenu files from, the UI folder in the resource folder to download to a clients computer without them having to go to my clans website to get the customizations. See I want the vgui images & text, when someone selects a weapon class, to say Canadians instead of British and see a canadian flag in the team select gui instead of the british flag.

We've been working a total conversion, graphically, of British to Canadians on British maps.

OR is there a way to do all of this within a map's entity file and import it back into the map file with the Ripent program?

THANKS!

Since this is my first post, I appologize if I've posted in the wrong area.

you may have better luck in the server discussion forum, the ppl who hang out there probably know your stuff better than mappers would.

and I dont know people are gonna feel about a server changing their UI.... unless its only for that server.

Well ... it would download new files.

This would take priority over the other files. So it would effect those maps all the time.

Untill the files were deleated :kitty:

Check the Steam Server forums out ... much better then the dod ones here for that sort of stuff.

ok thank you :)

I wish there was a server command to delete the custom UI files once a player leaves. So that the British won't always show up as Canandians, in my case, on every British team map, on other servers.
