With the DoDec expanding, we need extra help keeping the new source site updated. If anyone is interested, let me know. Staff members get a free email account, free hosting, and a free backrub. Duties are shared among the staff members, so the work load will be light. Serious Inquiries Only.

Well from my past experiences (i was fired/quit) you basically hunt the DoD sites for DoD downloads and then upload them to the server.

Can I just have the back rub?

Basicly, you'll be uploading new material to the site and helping out in the forums giving tech support to guys/gals (yes, we have females there too) having trouble. I do this in my spare time. I normaly upload on the weekends. There's no pressure, but you do have to make an effort.

Janobi, backrubs are compilments of Capt. Speirs. I hear his hands are ice cold:p

Richy, from what I understand, you never uploaded anything. Thats why you got "fired".

I did a bunch for like a week but got tired of looking for downloads. I would rather get them to send it to me but that didn't work out too well either. So I was fired but at that same conversation with Jac I was going to quit :D

I only check once a week for downloads. There's no need to be looking everyday.

If you guys are interested, email me or come join our forums.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but youre really not supposed to just go download work and then host it to your site without permission. And please dont tell me you ask for permission because you never asked my permission to post my Thompson on DoDec, you just.... did. Sorry to be so *****y about this, but you really need permission.

permission to spread someone's wonderful work? meh whatever floats your boat.

Its not the fact that you dont want it spread, its the fact that you really should ask permission if you can host it on your own site.

Apparently, you know nothing of a capitalist society! In this world we do whatever we want, and react when we get sued!

In the end you must respect the authors wishes. So what he says goes.

Just check the readmes on the files that you're hosting and you're good. Some of them have faulty credits and are downright annoying.

Perfect example: Like taking someone else's skin for instance and putting a silly logo on it and then claiming it as yours. *cough*

Apologies for the irrelevant post.

I've already been over this w/ you. You sent me a pm b*tching about Editor321 supposidly getting the credit for your model. You never said you didnt want the model hosted. Only that Editor was getting all the credit. I compromised by putting *Model by S1L3NC3D*. I guess you cant be satisfied. I can take it down, it's no biggie to me. Let this be a note to you other guys out there to not use his model. And trust me, your not busting my bubble cause I could care less. You can give my lawyers a call cause they're bored and need something to do. I'll give you the phone number and the law firm. All you have to do is show up.

*This thread is for staff help at the DoDec. So lets keep it on topic. If you wanna b*tch, send me a private message. I cant say I'll read it though*

I know that you werent trying to be disrespectful and that youre just trying to make a good site that has a collection of every model and skin possible. Maybe Im just being paranoid, but I just like seeing the credits on the page, not just in the readme because thats how you have to do it at CDG and that place is my home away from home. So sorry if I made you angry or whatever because of my nagging. Im new to the DoD forums, and Im not yet used to how open everyone is about sharing their work. So Ill leave this thread alone now, and I hope that because of this you dont have any extended beef with me.

I dont have any beef w/ you. We're all friends here. You made a great model. I told you that. And I tried to give you more credit by adding that you were the one that made it (in the descprition). I'd like to think that the DoDec is a sub-site of this MSA forum. It's like a library of custom stuff that people have made through the years. Links in this forum dont last forever. But you know you can always find it at the DoDec. The DoDec is also a place to get your name reconized for your work. Alot of people dont know of these forums and the people here. Hell, to alot of the kids there, Splinter is like God  . He brought that upon himself because of his textures.

Its water under the bridge. Dont worry about it. I still need some trustworthy volunteers for the DoDec Source!

Hmm yes, it does make it seem that Editor "made" it.. sure he compiled it but... there's no real organization to that particular part of your site. Compiler, modeler, skinner, animator.. pick a random one and stick it in the title is what it seems you guys do. I suggest making small thumbnails of the preview pick, and then listing the credits on the bottom instead of "xxx's gun" like what they did @ the pokemart (rip)

(give us a ring at #dod-msa@gamesurge.net ... anyone)

Yeah, you should try to include all people involved, but if you can only have one, have the modeler, I don't need any credit. As Billie Joe said, all I did was compile

Sry EZ didn't mean to hijack your thread. Good luck finding staff and best wishes
