Thickheaded looking to make first map

Hello,
I found somewhere, once upon a time a good step by step walkthrough on how to make a map in DoD.

All you ended up with was a L shaped small map with 3 flags, but it at least gave an idea.

I have tried to play around with modelers before, Serious Sam, Unreal, etc.. and all I got was a convoluted mess that never worked.

I SUCK terribly at programming, but I can build/troubleshoot just about any computer out there.

So is there a website that has a good simple walkthrough on how to build these maps, as I can't find the original I found long ago.

Thanks a lot!

Well you just might try looking a few posts from the top of this forum and you will most likely see a thread that has MAPPING FAQ in the subject heading . . .

That sort of implies that that thread has some sort of frequently asked questions

And what is your post?

A MAPPING QUESTION! . . .

Did you read the faq that is sticky in this forum?

Personally I think it has grown to large and is hard to get a grip about but it contains almost ALL info you need...

heh.
I was looking mainly for the link to the website.
Thanks, Trail_Duck for not being so above everyone else and actually answering my question.
The site you mentioned is the same I think that's in the FAQ (gasp yes you mean people I DID read it), and it looks familiar, but I can't find the exact one I am thinking of.
And for the smart arse(s), yes I did look through the FAQ.
I was looking for the website that, at least for me, does a better job (pictures and stuff) of explaining stuff, but I think I read this one in the past and it helped a lot.
And a few of the links in the FAQ no longer work.

So try being nice, some people have NEVER TRIED THIS BEFORE.
And the FAQ albiet helpful, still leaves out A LOT.

Thanks again Trail.
