dod_wolfie is almost ready for final release.

Before this happens, we would like one final playtest to spot any last-minute problems. With this in mind, our server will run the map exclusively 24/7 for anyone who wishes to play the map in its current form.

Server details:
[SCOT] DoD Server, ip: 84.18.199.74:27019

If you have a broadband connection, a .res file has been set up and the map and all its associated files will download from our website instead of the game server.

If you have a 56k connection, please download the following .zip file and extract it to your dod folder, retaining the file structure.
http://www.clan-scot.com/wolfie/dod_wolfie_playtest_02.zip

The map is the only one on our rotation, so it will re-load after each round.

Full info about what the map is all about and why is contained in this thread:-
http://www.dayofdefeat.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41301

Please direct all feedback to this thread, or e-mail me: eric_the_pixie@clan-scot.com
We also have a number of rooms on Quakenet, the main clan room is #-scot- drop in for a chat anytime.

Thanks for all the feedback from playtest 01.
Most of the bug-fixes are now in place.
The map will end after 20 minutes (or earlier if the Allies capture the radio room). The next map in your rotation will then load as normal.

You didn't upload etp_axis_win.wav to a webserver btw.

I've checked, its there.

I also checked the .res file that points to it and its ok too.

Hopefully this is just a weird glitch thing, I asked other people on the server, and they said everything downloaded ok for them.

I'll keep an eye on it though, thanx m8.

Eric, if you'd like to do some serious playtesting before you release a true public version, let me know. I will d/l and run through it in LAN tonight and, assuming it runs fine, I'd be happy to help you w/ a playtest at CoJ. Given a day or 2 notice, I can probably get you a full server (18-20 peeps).

Let me know.

I played it by myself on your server. I loved having 5 stielhandgranates and 3 pineapple grenades, it was fun:D I also like your floor flags that change from axis to allied, they are cool!

I was wondering, though. You have bazooka round strewn around the map....but I couldn't blow anything up with the bazooka. What gives?

@Shane

Thanx m8, that might be a good idea, I'll get in touch if need be.

I've spotted an annoying 'hole' in the map on the beach. This has been reported in the NS forums and is due to tweaks added to the original Zoner's tools. I thought I had managed to avoid the problem, but its there. I'll need to re-compile using an older version of the tools, here's hoping it won't affect the clip nodes - cos I'm at the absolute limit at the moment.

@Jibba-Jabba
Glad you liked the map.
The bazooka's were meant to blow up the gates on the beach but for some bizarre reason, not everyone can see the bazooka models when they play the map.
This is beyond my control - it must be a DoD bug, or a compile tool bug.
I decided to leave them in the map and if a player can see them, they can fire them just like a normal weapon, but to keep things fair for those who can't see them, they won't blow up stuff.

If Shane's offering a playtest at CoJ, you should seriously consider taking it.

I really enjoyed this map. I havent played Wolfenstein, so I dont know how it compares, but I think it plays (and looks) great for DoD.

There were a couple things I might like to see, but Ill have to play it more before I open my mouth. :)

Wow it's great to see the map close to being finished, i saw this at i18 i think that musta been quite a while ago, may be as much as 2 years! And it looked awesome then, is it still taking 10 hours or so to compile or have you got a better pc now?

Good to see your still around, though not much of the DoD team seems to be. Whilst i haven't even got DoD installed these days!

Better finish reading your thread quickly so i can get back on track for my Uni coursework due in tomorrow!

[!$$ueS] out....

After the allies blew open the door on their left I went down to the first barbed wire fence and crouched and moved over by the slope by the bunker. and I sunk in to the slope. I could go under the slope and I could partially come out of it to shoot the people coming up to the door.

Also the built in 20 min. timer is annoying. After the 20 minutes are up it switches to the next map in our server rotation. so if we want to switch sides we have to re-load the map to play. Makes it hard to keep people in the server that way.

That aside we really enjoyed playing the map and are looking foreward to the finished version.
