trees getting no light

Everytime I put a tree mdl behind something like say a hedge and stone wall it will show up black like it's getting no light.

I tried stretching the skybox out and around the tree more, but still no light.

Here's a couple pics.

Anybody know why this happens and how I can fix this?

could be because of the angle the light is at...you could also try make a light source that points towards the trees if possible.

I tried a light entity and it didn't help... I'll try the a different angle soon here.

You haveto make sure that the origin of the env_model is not inside or behind a brush because the env_model gets its light from its origin so even if the tree model it self is in the light the model will come out shadowed

Well, changing the angle worked. Thanks. It must of got changed somehow without me knowing before as I never change it.

NC17, the env_model itself is infact behind 2 brushes and it shows up perfectly fine ingame now with the light angle changed.
