Really nice picture choice, the only thing that stinks is that 'new game' and 'find servers' blend in too much but that's nothing.

This should be somewhere in the editing forums though. Good release nonetheless.

very nice indeed... maybe if it was possible to put shadows behind the friends, servers, and other buttons they would show up better (just a thought)

How come no map has done that yet? That's a good idea (hiding in a hole on the street and I mean standing up in the hole for MGing).

I don't mean t be rude, but what do you mean "finished"? You googled a WWII picture and set it as the splash screen? cool, I guess.

I don't mean to be rude, but making a splash screen is a tad bit more complecated than simply taking a picture and putting it in your dod folder...

How my native language is french (and more, my english is very crappy...)
Maybe the word "finish", haven't the same sense for you and me.

But, if you need more details :

I never take this picture myself, and even did'n't digitalised it and placed on the net.

You right, I browse thx to google a lot of ww2 pictures (but 1 hour of selection...)

When I found the good one for me, I opened my dod folder, download another splash screen to understand how it working (which file format, size, colors, ...)

I search a way to do it in my image editor (psp)
Put some filters, cut the pic, search for the right fonts, ...

It was more a composition work than a creation.

I never said that it was a hard or a long work.

"finish" for me, mean clear something, hard to do or not - Like finishing my coffee or a donuts.

Sorry if my english is bad, I do my best.

Hey man, your english isn't bad, I think it's just a simple misinterpretation! Don't worry, I liked it, I was just trying to see what you meant.

Like I said, I wasn't trying to be rude, even though the dude who replied assumed that I was being sarcastic or something.

I'd be impressed if you painted it by hand, because digging up a photo with Google Image Search, running some color filtering and saving it as a theme background, everyone can do.

Meh, I'm still fond of the one I threw together almost 2 years ago...

http://www.catalyststudios.co.uk/penfold/steam_splash.jpg

Pieced together before v1.0 came out (in anticipation) - first used it for the splash screen when everything was done witht he Half-Life/WON front end. I didn't have player models for v1.0 at that point, so I had to use the standard infantry models from the pre-release screenshots.

/Wishes DOD and other STEAM mods had better support for splashgrounds bigger than 800x600, or a better re-size filter.

Better thing would be let us use plain image instead of requiring cut it into weird pieces.
