I may be wrong in this case, but in most models I've seen the stretching is because of a mesh which causes a small part of a texture to be repeated (the part underneath the scope) and it looks stetched

Where is the search button??

Im sure everyone is tired of answering that same inevitable question so i'll just quote MaRzy

Theres very limited information about Halflifes Field Of Vision (FOV), and how it effects the look of v_models ingame, or how we would go about correcting these problems, in fact i could not find any. What we do know though is HL FOV distorts v_models in some way, and that FOV model editing came about because of this problem. So it would seem fair to presume that FOV edited models are an attempt to make a weapon look more like it would in real life, and if this is the case, it would seem to me that FOV editing is a move in the right direction.

Almost all the weapons that DOD consists of are FOVed. Why? See above.

Now de-FOV is to make the front of the weapon smaller and back to the "assumed" correct size. Thus making the weapon in-game appear to be much smaller and thinner towards the end/crosshair of the weapon.

take the actual model from the compressed folder, and place it in the models folder.. there will be no models showing in that folder but custom ones.

Well, create a folder in your /steamapps/"steam username"/day of defeat/dod/sounds/weapons/

put the sounds there, and change "steam username" with your... emm.. steam username :o

The model looks really odd with that scope...it just looks like the scopes 4 feet long.
