Hi All,

This is a dod conversion of the hogwarts map for quake 3. All the hogwarts specific stuff is gone because it killed the map on the hl engine, but I think the layout is fun. BTW, this is not a map for low end machines....

Looks pretty but it would be easier if you gave me some more screenshots. Anyhow did you convert this map?

Good job anyway ;)

Could you show some screens from the Q3A version?

do you literally mean convert, or did you remake it? If you only converted it its not really "your" map...you just brought it to DoD

Maxey, here is the link to the q3a map.

If you have q3a you should really give that map a try. Very very nice map that is fun to explore.

Stuka, I certainly understand your point and you may be right. Since I was working off an existing design that I tried to replicate as much as possible, this may never be "mine". But, since I had permission from the original author and I made many modifications, my conscience is clear.

The reactions on the map were very possitive, although the map doesn't seem really beautifull to me...
Question @ jacobscalpel: did you include as many secrets into it as the original author did? :)

i wish, killer tomato. I started out trying to do so, but I couldn't make many of the secrets work well. Then, as more and more of the map got completed, I had to start stripping stuff out just to get it to compile (I now know all about MAX_PATCHES). The end result is a map with nothing about harry potter at all. Personally, I really enjoy the layout of the dod version and don't miss the potter stuff. That being said, the q3a version is fun.

Well from this I get the impression you did remake it, so yes I do consider it yours, I was just saying that if you had someone to convert the map to a dod map (without remaking it from the ground up) then it wouldnt really be yours, however I think your saying you did so its all good :)

BTW just a question about max patches, have they at all tried to get rid of stupid limits like these in HL2? IMO the texture, brush and entity limits are just downright stupid and should not be there..
