i think splinter makes the best stuff for dod .

if u need an extra host for skins/models i can help out , i got my self well alota webspace . i have a a webhosting account on "foghosting.com" and some from my ISP .

i know some people hate clicking on a dodec link cause its not an instant download and u gotta click a few more windows , then they link u to edge files , then if their busy , link to filefront , + adds . besides my clans webpage , i never use much webspace at all .

Great work as usual, just a few crits on the animations.

The draw, while new, smooth and very nice looking, seems to be too long.
While many draws cut off this one, moving so far from idle, teleports even making my own server.

The smash(also very nice) is slow, but not horrible. Doesn't seem too too bad in game, but seeing as it does damage instantly, it should be very fast to strike in theory. Your recent K98 for example is perfect.

As a side note I noticed the enbloc kinda pops out instead of flying like in most animations.
I'm impartial either way but can anyone comment on which would be fitting of a real M1?

Oh and I seem to run into a crash upon recompiling, this and the de-FOVed, anyone know what's up?

Nice one Splinter! I wanna use em, but after decompiling the model, i can't compile it. Give's me an error. After that i can't load the model anymore in HLMV. I wanted to ajust the origin settings.
Any ideas what's causing this?

Thanks for your great work!

Thanks for the crits Meleculo, much appreciated. But if the smash does not satisfy you enough, there's always the bayonet version :)

The reason why it's not compiling because there is a texture error in the QC.

take out the line:

$texrendermode "skin3_test.bmp" "masked"

and you should be fine.

take out the line:

$texrendermode "skin3_test.bmp" "masked"

I'm afraid that doesn't work.

So, Splinter what is different with the qc-file? I notice that there's no path to a shootsound. For exemple 'tommy_shoot.wav'.
Ingame the shootsound mixes with the recharge sound or something. I like the result of that! What's the key here to get more then one sound mixed ingame? This is the first time with any model that does this. This is for me as a sound freak a new perspective to sound engineering.

To continue on the stupid questions trail:

Is there any significant difference between the parkerized version and the normal one (btw what does "parkerized" mean?)?? I've noticed that the parkerized one isn't as shiny as the normal one - any other differences??

The pakerized version shoots spider webs from the bayonet lug.

Anywho:
Parkerizing (sometimes called phosphating) is a method of protecting steel. Steel is a metal alloy whose major component is iron, with carbon being the primary alloying material. Carbon acts as a binding agent, locking the otherwise easily-moved iron atoms into a rigid lattice. Varying the amount of carbon and its distribution in the alloy controls the qualities of the resulting steel. With the increased carbon, steel is harder and has a much higher tensile strength than iron, but is also more brittle. One classical definition is that steels are iron-carbon alloys with up to 2.1 percent carbon and thus increasing their durability. It is commonly used on weapons.

the animations are fine, but i liked the dark version before better (personal taste, so u dont have to give a :hamster::hamster::hamster::hamster: ).
only one small thing stings right into my eye the hole in the sight isnt a hole, its just black, i guess u forgot the transparency.

this should work...
but u'll see something wrong between the faces of the sight
if u still wanna put that sight on ur eyeball

find skin3_test.bmp in his m1 v2,and import the bmp below
