Hammer question

Ok, I searched, but did not find answer to my questions.

First, when we saw the previews for hammer many months ago, there was an orange texture that was being used before they applied the real textures. this texture also had the name of whatever surface that the person was using such as "wall" or "railing". Where is that texture at as I could not find it?

Also, when I set up hammer using the instructions given, it had me setting up using some cstrike directories. why am i using cs materials instead of hl-2 materials? did i miss something? is there a different directory or way i should be setting up hammer?

Thanks, any replies are appreciated.

ok, when you first open the SDK, look on the bottom right, there is a pull down menu that sais "Counter-Strike" just change that to Half-Life 2 and it should work

thanks for the reply. In hammer, on the options "game configurations" box, the instructions said to set it up using the cstrike materlials info so I set it up like that. I have listed under configuration, Half-Life 2 and DayOfDefeat. If I change it to half-life 2, the executable directories and the other two boxes info changes to say
sourcesdk
sourcesdk\sdkcontent
sourcesdk\sdkcontent\maps

when i change to dayofdefeat is says
\sourcesdk
\sourcesdk\cstrike_sample_content
\sourcesdk\cstrike_sample_content\maps

which one should I use for day of defeat?

also, any idea which one is the orange texture that was in the preview?

wow... i hove no idea what that texture was, but i was it in some of the source samples, check those out for it.

i would guess that you should use the CS:S ones, cause the screenies that other people have of DOD:S stuff has all the CS:S stuff on it.
