Hi,

Since a while now I've been able to map a bit in my spare time. Against all odds I got thru all the problems I encountered, thanks to you people!

Please, a warm welcome for dod_fraicheneeeeeez!
*aplause*

Okey, the storyline:

***

June 13nd,

Normandy, As the 6th Airborne Division rapidly advance through the deserted trenches, their first conflict finds it's place in the small village 'Fraichnez'.
It seems all Axisforces fromout this region have pulled together in Fraichenez to make a stand against the invading allied army. Since this little village is of great importance to General Omar Bradley's plans, the Allied division has no choice then taking the village!

Axis forces - Maintain Fraichenez! Keep the Allied forces in their trenches before hell brakes lose! Failing is NOT an option...

Allied forces - Take Fraichenez without any intensions to take prisoners, Any resistance must be taken out! Succes!

***

This might be my first map to succesfully finish and as I'm slowly making progression, I get more curious and excited to see how it plays.
The layout is plain and I made the map to be played by 8 vs 8 players max. It's a small-to-mediumsized map.

I used some of Spine's textures and will -of course- add him to the credits, as I will some forum-members for helping me out everytime.

Enough chitchat for now, head over to the screenshots!

NOTE01: As you may see on some screenshot's, some textures do not show up transparant. I'm aware of that.

''02: Fraichenez is not an excisting village as far as I know.

''03: Anyone interrested in making an overvieuw? contact me (israeli99@hotmail.com) please (dont mind the URL, it's my way of indirectly showning my email)!

some elements of this map resemble glider, not only texturally but structuraly.

there are a few pics in there, cant reference them because i cbf going back thru the thousand shots you posted, but looks like you havent effectively planned and executed vis blocking as you can see half the map over walls/buildings etc

That was exactly what I was thinking.

That's correct though I'm not finished yet ;)

This might help you all to see the whole picture:

This is the Allied spawn. It's a bunker wich is connected to the following trench:
dod_fraichenez03
When you spawn, this is the trench you will walk out of.
dod_fraichenez08/09/10 are made in the middle of the little village. I suspect this place to have the fiercest battles. I hope this won't turn out to be a chokepoint.
dod_fraichenez11/12/13 are the in-and-exterior of the church. The church is located near the axis spawn and I'm planning to make it a capture-point.
dod_fraichenez14 and 15 are made in the axis spawn. The axis spawn has -unlike the allied spawn- two ways to the scene. One as shown on dod_fraichenez15 and one (forgot to make a screeshot of that) comming out of a house.
dod_fraichenez16 and 17 This is a road leading from a house wich is located in the middle of the village, to a house very near to the axis spawn. There's a (nazi)crate wich will be a capture-area.
dod_fraichenez20 The interior of the bunker wich is shown on dod_fraichenez 6.
dod_fraichenez23 The crate I wrote about.

I hope this is of any help and I hope to supply you with an overvieuw very soon (alltough that's not likely for I am not any place near my PC).

Cheers

Excellent potential on this one. And props for using FuzzDad's dod_glider textures. I dont think Ive seen much of them outside the map. You did a good job using them. Keep working on it.

That's pretty.

Pretty UGLY!

Nah I'm just kidding ;) It's a very nice looking map. The barn silo overlooking the path in pic #23 is particularly nice both in terms of visual and in potential gameplay (I couldn't tell if there was a window or not but that'd make a hell of a sniper/MG position. And like others have said, it's nice to see the Glider textures getting a bit more lovin'. I don't know how to map, so I really don't know how to offer any criticism there :)

Okey,

I'm really sorry to inform you guys that my map and all the files that were linked to it, were erased... It happened when something went wrong with the update of my BIOS...

Ironicly, this map was probably the first one for me to completely finish...

Thanks for all of your replies anyway :)

feel your pain killer tomato :(

Ironicly (sort of) ... I found the rmf to my very first attempt at a "playable" map ... god it's crap.

I wish I had the rmf from my second attempt, that would have been a nice one to update and release.
