Poly Limit? For a ...v_model? Or poly as in map...how many polies can be in a map before HL Commits mental suicide?

v_models are usually around 800-2000, I think.

1800 seems a lil bit high for the amount of detail

There is none.

I've seen an MG42 with 20,000 polies.
v, p, and w models.

256 polies?

*lol*

no thats not the "limit"...

there is no real limit, it's just a thing ppl use for themselves to make models work on lo-end pcs...

some HL2 models are even under 200 polies...

(the pistol is 1500 i think)

there is no poly limit. If you have a severly low end machine then u would want to limit your models to low poly-ness crap unless u want ur game to run at 6 fps but if ur like me and the majority of guys here u would want models 1500+... I have some 3000 poly weapons ruunning in game.

High poly weapons/player models make me lag. Lately I've just been using reskinned default weapons.

There may be no built-in polygon limit, but a well made weapon model for DoD shouldn't be more than 2000 polys, that's plenty of room for all the detail you need. Also, you spelled forty wrong.
