Would someone be ver so kind and make a garand anim, where the clip is pushed down in with the thunb, and the hand slaps across to close the breech but in like two motions.. thanks.

I doubt I will get any time to do this, but I have some questions that might help other animators:
1- "...and the hand slaps across to close the breech..." What should it slap accross, I thought the Garand needed the user to pull the handle back to release (Just a slight clarification for others please)

2- Which two motions? the load and slap? slapping left then right? front then back? just a little more info on this as well.

ALSO:
Video clips are worth their weight in gold here ;)

1- in the last bit on srp, just before the battle, it shows a guy loading his garand, he puts in the clip, and whacks across the bolt (is that right?) to close the breech, but in like a slaping motion.

2-when i said 2 motions, i meant so that it didnt look like 2 anims belended together, 2 seperate motions of pushing in the clip, then the arm goes down and does the closing...

any clearer?

I'll help out here. I know what Speirs is asking for. Once you push the clip all the way down into the mag well, and the follower reaches the bottom, it releases the bolt catch. However, most M1's bolts don't always strip the first round on their own and need some persuasion. A smart tap on the oprod handle (the moving handle on the right side of the weapon) gets it moving. This is what you see in SPR in that scene before the last battle. One of the paratroopers is looking out a window, pushes a clip into his rifle, and has to tap the oprod with the edge of his hand. It's not really a slap because a slap is unnecessary. Just like tapping the forward assist on an M16. If you play America's Army at all, you see this in the reload animation. And it's the M14 you're thinking of that needs the oprod handle pulled back once a mag is locked.

Pushing the clip in, and tapping the oprod handle.

Technically no, but the oprod is connected to, and cams the bolt, so you got the right idea.

I know what you mean. I need to get back into animating. Did a lot of work with it and never got anything released, lol.

vid = wenar ! !! !

I was completely wrong in my visuals in my head for this one. I was thinking more thumb tward you, palm down, slapping down and slightly to the right on top of the gun.

muhhahaha

BUT, if it is NOT done soon, and I get bored of these other 5,892,348,998,234 projects I have started, I might give this a try. (but, it will just be the SMD release incase you want to swap MDLs... speaking of which, does splinter's gun have the same bones as the default?? if not you might want to load a URL to it, or something.)

*cough* engineer stop hiding and do this *cough*

actually the default anim is pretty much exactly like that

Close, but the default doesn't look as convincing as some custom animations do. Example? Cpt. Glimsharp's Garand.

Glimsharps and the default are more of a push, I was looking for more of a swift smack.

If we're thinking of the same one, then I've got that vid somewhere as well... They guy completely dissasembling an Mg42? I think any videos and pics really should be posted here for reference materials. So serve it up, man.

Uhm. If it helps, watch Band of Brothers episode 3, I think. Whichever one is Carentan. In the latter half of the episode, Blithe (the pseudo-cowardly rifleman) reloads in a style I think he would like to have done. It was a shove and a slap, essentially.
