So i made up my mind. I am going to be compiling a collection of my own, and other's work for this pack. I have mostly everything done. I still need a few things, like voices and such, but that i already got planned out. The russian ones are going to be done by my ukranian friend Maksim, and the romanian will be done by me. One thing i do need help with however, is with the splash screen. I have my first attempt at one here, and i would like not only input, but directions on how i can go about chopping it up into the right sized square .tga files so that they will work in dod.
I hope you all like since i spent around 5 hours finding pictures and cutting, pasting, editing, and such in order to get this done. So, without further adew, i give u my first attempt in creating a splash screen. Enjoy.

yeah, i know the one on DoDec, but that one sucks. It is inaccurate, and a lot of those repeat for different sounds. I rather have authentic.

Here are the basic player models i use.

Russians:

http://img69.exs.cx/img69/7383/russiansoldier2.jpg

Romanians:

http://img69.exs.cx/img69/7870/romaniansoldier.jpg

yes yes, that is my face on the romanian soldier. As it is now, that face only comes up for the MG, but by the time i am done, i will have it switched for the sturmtruppe, and my bro will have a face on the romanians as well. My friend Maksim and his bro will then have a face on the russians. Dont worry, it works well, and plus its more authentic.

OMG, are u kidding me?

Butter-knife, LOL. No offense to u or to anyone else, but i take it by your post that u are either an american, or extremely young. Romania is a country, next to hungary, bulgaria, moldova, ukraine, and the black sea. It was also very important for the germans because it had massive oil fields that the germans needed. We (the romanians) even reached stalingrad. We were also highly responsible for taking Crimea. .Find out more here. (http://www.worldwar2.ro)

Dwin, what about that site?

What DP28 without the drum mag, ofcourse it will have a drum mag. If u are talking about dwin's site, those are both PPSh's, one has drum mag, one has bannana clip.

Swat, romanians did more than the italians, just that u dont hear much of them since it wasnt in the west and plus romania went komie after ww2.

Hyper, if u are reffering to the white wool ones that the romanians wore, i am still working on a good one of those, but having a bit of trouble, maybe u would like to help.

Romanians outfits dont look too accurate. The Romanians uniform looked kinda like british uniform without pouches and with short sleeves and german style boots.

Yeah, no offence. Thats like saying "No offence, but I hope you die." Way to be abrasive, and make generalizations about an entire nation.

Why don't you tell us what you know about the american campaign? The british? how about the italians or the aussies? Oh you must not know anything, you're romanian. No offence though.

Christ.

That "DP27" with a straight magazine is a ZB machinegun. ZB-26 if I remember correctly. It is the predecessor of the Bren and Germans also used it as the MG-26.

Yeah, hey sorry about that butter-knife, my comment was based on my past experiences living here in america. Because what u said is one of the most common responses i get from people when i tell them i am Romanian. So my... umm... "generalization" was backed by a "general" response that i get.

Hey vandal, what would you like to know about american, british, italian or aussie campaigns? I would be glad to help expand your knowledge of ww2.

Swat, go here (http://www.worldwar2.ro/forum/index.php?showtopic=1176) and check out the different URL links to pics of the romanian uniforms. U will see they had pockets, and they werent like the british. Actually, i read on that same site that when romanians were fighting along side the germans, they would have to wear arm bands so that they wouldnt be confused for russian soldiers.

Ripa, it is not a ZB-26, it is a ZB-30. It is a czech Light Machine Gun that the romanian army had been purchasing from the czech's. It is however the foundation model that was used in making the bren.

What are the cosmetic (and other) differences between the two ZBs? The attached picture is a ZB26.

They also used Czech-built VZ-24 rifles, along with standard K98K's.

KomradRazvan

Engineer, yes i know that. Its on the www.worldwar2.ro romanian world war 2 site. They also used Mannlicher rifles.

Ripa, here are a few pics of zb-30's.
http://www.rememuseum.org.uk/arms/machguns/armmg3/arm159.jpg
http://ww2.kulichki.ru/w/img/ger/zb30.jpg
http://www.rememuseum.org.uk/arms/machguns/armmg2/arm139.jpg
http://www.worldwar2.ro/images/content/zb30_div3mt_04_45_l.jpg

and here is a zb-26
http://www.professional.spb.ru/SEMINAR/GUN/pulem/5_452.jpg

Here is a ZB-53
http://www.worldwar2.ro/images/content/zb53_transylvania_10_44_l.jpg

so the differences between the 26's and the 30's are very small, but they differ very much from a 53. The 26's and the 30's used a straight clip loaded in from the top, where as the 53, was a lot heavier and was belt fed.
Here is a site with specifications for the ZB-30 (http://www.worldwar2.ro/arme/?category=small_arms&article=10&language=en)

KomradRazvan
