Anyone know the name of the file for the dark, roiling smoke coming off burning tanks?

CoD: UO has really nice smoke sprites.

In my opinion, anyway.

I'm thinking its:

black_smoke1.spr
black_smoke2.spr
black_smoke3.spr
black_smoke4.spr

also look at "xsmoke3.spr".

Thanks!
When this latest steam update kicked me out to desktop for custom content, I got rid of my red dot crosshair and redwood garand (sheds tear) but I kept getting booted.
Then I remembered......

Back in 3.1 or with advent of the gcf files, I took the advice from a DOD forum post to replace the fps killing purple/black smoke with a "null" file. Be glad to remove it if I could find it now that have a PC that can handle it.

I have them extracted, but I can't put them in a sprite. They're DDS files, each DDS file is a single frame.

Can anyone do it?

Search Google for a Photoshop DDS plug-in. If you have Photoshop... Also, Milkshape can load DDS files as texture files, so what you can do is load it as a texture on a model, go to the mesh window, take a screenshot [Prt Scr button on your keyboard], go into whatever graphics program you use, paste [Edit>Paste], then save as a high-quality JPG or BMP or whatever.

Or upload the DDS files somewhere and someone else will do it. :)

I can edit DDS files, I just can't make sprites.

You are all incorrect.

The smoke is actually particle effects. If you want to figure out how to make smoke effects, browse somewhere in

http://www.mardymouse.co.uk

and find the smoke tutorial map he made. Im to lazy to find it for you, but rest assured, its in either the downloads or tutorials section. He made a smoke that is green and red like on dod_switch.

To make it look like burning smoke, select a dark brownish-black color in the entity properties.

Ur welcome
