Env_blood makes Fountain of Forearms

Hi All,

I recently started maping, or learning to map at least. :D I got the basics down, one room, two rooms, capture maps, lights, skies. So I was just messing around making entities do funny things like deadly showers, boxes filled with water, boxes that explode flesh, conveyer belts that make escalators, pushable items that shoot you across the room, and the like :D . I thought the funniest thing of all would be a fountain of blood, like in the movie Evil Dead :p . I set up a env_blood entity, a triggering button, set the simulated damage at 999, and compiled the map. But when I hit the button instead of a stream of red blood sprites I got a blotch of Blackish Green "blood" and about 30 flying forearms holding grenades spray out onto the floor. :eek: Sure it was hilarious but then it got annoying. No matter what I change I either get flying arms or nothing at all. :angry: I thought it might have something to do with a REALLY high level of simulated damage but no, even if I change it to 1 I get spray of forearms. If you know why this is or had it happen to you please respond. Thanks!

Hi,

I can't tell you why this happens but it's probably a coded / programmed thingy, otherwise, check the properties checklist again an try to change the 'gibmodel'.

Well here is the screenshot you asked for. :D Also, recently while messing about with this I no longer get german hands and grenades I now only get british grenades. I am so lost on this. :confused:

Its not working because the game wasn't coded to do what you want. Maybe make some sprites to make a bloody fountain. Don't let it be a hang up though. Just keep mapping, add features in "post-production".
