Horrible picture, can't really see anything other than the wood and the default metal on the barrel. And the link seems to be down. :o

Intresting for a first time job...

with a little work it can be a good texture for a map model or something but it really doesn't fit a weapon, especialy the garand.

You need better lighting. Also the link isn't down. You gotta copy and paste those damned freewebs.

I don't like it myself. But the most important thing iss that you are happy with it. I agree this type of wood would be better for planks or barbed wire. Improvments could be darken it a bit and add better lighting. Also skin the metal ;)

Thanks all for helping me! I didnt really know what a garand looks like so I thought it'd be cool if it would have a pale wood thingy.. but.. I tried to make a red, and the wood just seemed too red... :( too lazy to set it more darker.

Yeah that wood texture could be use for something else. It just doesn't fit a weapon. Looks like someone used a wooden bench to make the weapon.

As for your first skin, it's good.

the allies were running out of funding later in the war...

Looks good, but definatly not the right type of wood.

You have the wood look down to an art, but it looks like that Garand forgot to get a finish.

A lot of folks round here like to see dirtied wood with blobs and scratches etc:sheep:
The wood is nice....It could have been much nicer on a higher res mesh, just a tip for your next skin there:)
If u like, you can add me to your MSN or AIM and i can give u a few tips.

:)

I like the skin but I do agree it'd look a lot better on a higher res mesh.
