ok, now i may be the only one here pissed off at the way the lee enfield reloads. for a start, the lee enfield does not load at the breach, it takes a single 10rnd detachable box magazine. and why the heck has the dod dev team made it so you have to reload TWICE to get a full magazine, with STRIPPER CLIPS. if anybody can reanimate the Enfield to use th magazine, it would be greatly appreciated. the double reload thing cant be sorted till the next update.

Cheers

OMG Dirty Sanchez, the only reason they have used this model of Enfield is beceause it has a greater advantage over the KAR due to the large clip size, WHY are they going to use the full 10 clip relode when it makes it TOTALY unfair against the KAR 98.

By using the two 5 Clip relode system the game is still to some point fair.

Use your head!

You are kidding right?

Unlike later model military rifles, the Lee Enfield magazine was not intended (when empty), to be removed and replaced with a full one. Lee Enfield's were only ever intended to be loaded with 5 round chargers (stripper clips), or topped-up from the breech, with loose rounds. To this extent the rifle was only issued with one magazine.

The Lee Enfield reloads exactly the way it should! But I am sure the team actually does know this and will not be changing it.

Did you even look at my post above? I have one too that I do not load with stripper clips, but that is not the way it is done in combat.

Why do people allways say,
"I have an Enfield, I have this, I have that?"

Yeah right If you are British then you are breaking the LAW!

I also have a Lee-Enfield, and I have never reloaded using the magazine. Stripper clips are the most effective way to reload quickly, unless you have a spare magazine already loaded which no infantryman was given. The only thing I see wrong with the gun is the bayonete which should be a spike not the blade which was used on the MkII Lee-Enfield.

oh well, sorry. no need to turn this into a flaming thread. i just think if it has a magazine it should be used. there are plenty of other incosistancys in DoD that are overylooked, so reloading with a mag wouldnt be a problem.

No, your not. If you have a section 1 fire arms certificate, it is perfectly legal to own any bolt action rifle in the UK.
Also the No.4 and its older brother, the SMLE, can both be loaded from 2 5 shot stripper clips. Its faster and easier to load this way, I know, as i own one.

do you not understand that reloading by a mag is horribly unrealistic and would detract from the balance of gameplay?

no not really. the reload speed would be the same cept you wouldnt have to do it twice. plus i only asked for the anims.

reloading twice is hardcoded into the game so you would still have to press reload twice to have a full magazine

i know its hardcoded. i only asked for the anims. i said IF it were to be in DoD 1.1 the reloading would be the same cept u wouldnt have to do it twice. or they could make the reload sequence slightly longer. i just like magazines instead of strippers. thats my preference.

I've never been a big fan of british guns, I always thought they were pretty ugly looking, and based on the book I read (Bravo Two Zero) the sgt said that the sa 80 is a piece of crap. However i have been looking at the enfield more and more because of dod and i think I will buy one after I get my Garand, then a new stock for my Kar98k. And i gotta say stripper clips can be just as fast as a magizine man, if the soldier is well trained, so theres no need to have the mag man. And besides you could always jsut pretend that it's reloading with a mag ;)

Enfields could be loaded with stripper clips or mags. Stirpper clips were used in the field because you could carry more of them and you could discard the emtpy 'strip' and not leave an obvious trail for any enemy tracker/recon teams to follow.

personally i'm glad the enfield reloads with strippers clips as its more realistic. As for saying gun are illegal in the UK, who ever said his enfield worked? You can still own guns with moving parts as long as they cannot fire a round (I think they usually put a huge blob of slag down the barrel or summat to stop it being fired).
