We are still in the alpha stage, but, since BadKarma lost his internet (moved to a new house), things have slowed to almost a stop.

This top post of this thread will be updated as things are added, with the dates so you know if there was anything sine you were last here.

REMEMBER:
These are in beta version, so, they have some bugs (skins/animations/etc.), but nothing that will mess you up. If you notice something, don't hesitate to let us know. We might know, might have fixed it, but tell us incase we missed it
WHY RELEASE?
These being released are ones that we stopped working on and feel are good enough for now (finished, asside from minor tweaking), and give you a flavor for things to come (Like more weapons)

AMAZING!!! One complaint though. Try and make the jap sniper hat have a little more natural camo. The weeds or whatever on his head are WAYYY too high out. Like needles.

We have Ausie voices (not sure who did them, BadKarma sent them to me), but we need to decide which ones to use then rename all of them. BadKarma wanted to redo the faces and arms on them, so I will release the voices seperate (soon) and then together as the new models come out. (We can have large files, but a limited number of them, I think 15)

The Japanese ZIP has the players and voices. I have map sounds for them as well, but they are from the old old old beta1.2 days so the maps are different, and I need to find which sounds are German in the new maps and swap them out.

YES, the weapons are the ones holding us back. Mostly the re-mapping of a few.

there is the Lewis for the Ausies (Bren replacement), that has a 1 pixel map, and I wish I knew how to map to fix it.

The p_ and w_ for the owens (Sten) needs a skin (i just keep forgetting to make one)

The Type 99 (Kar98) needs a higher quality map, but I cheated and didnt use many textures, to make it useable.

BUT, you guys realy need, absolutely need the Katana for the Spade replacement.

I think I will be compiling what weapons we have (actualy not realy that bad, but we are wanting to do better).

For the USMC, there are a few minor changes, mostly just swapping weapons around, like the M1-carbine replaces the Tommy to be the M2, which had the same 750 rate of fire (sounds need to be swapped as well.
The carbine was replaced by dual colts, I think from a CS modeler (not sure)
But we do have the Johnson LMG for the BAR and the 1919A6 for the .30 cal.

If you see something released with no info, or wrong info, let me know if you have the real info. I am not here to steal or mislead anyone. I skinned and animated a few things, but other than that, I just compiled what I have and found a FTP host (thanks dodnetwork.com)

I just want to play the Japanese, and this pack lets me do that (and it is fun to mess with the skins and anims ;) )

How do you guys want the Weapons for the USMC?

Right now I have this setup:
1-
2- Dual Colts
3- M2 Carbine
4-
5-
6- Johnson LMG
7- 1919A6

All you do for the M2 is replace the tommy with everything from the Carbine (The M2 had the same ROF and ammo capacity as the Tommy)

I think what I will do is release what we use, then let you guys figure it out on your own. (But weapon sprites will be different on yours)

Ah yeah, 1.2, I remember Shadow.

For the USMC setup, I would say

1) Garand
2) Colt
3) M1/2 Carbine (M2 Carbine was introduced in August 1944 I believe. Not to sure if many made it to the Pacific theatre)
4) Reising SMG? It was used early war and later thrown out due to it's complete incompatibility in the field (jamming, etc).
5) Thompson SMG
6) Johnson LMG (was also popular with Marine paratrooper units)
7) M1919A6

They used the Thompson 1927 and M1A1 in The Pacific so to replace the Greasegun u could use the 1927 Thompson and For The Thompson Use The M1A1 in the Pacific they used the Browning M1919A4 im not sure about the M1919A6, And the BAR Saw limited Service. And i think they used the Springfield if im not mistaken.

Marines used all the same weapons as the Army, so if you wanted you wouldn't have to change anything. If you want to show off all the unique Marine weaponry though there are a few guns you could use.

I'd like to see the Johnson Rifle and LMG replacing the Garand and BAR, the Reising could replace the Grease-Gun, the Thompson M927 to replace the M1A1, I'd suggest using a box magazine rather than the drum, though there are already replacements using both, made by Cheeto.

I'd leave the .30cal as it is, though you could probably find a better texture for it, I know Bots made a nice texture some time ago, there are also a6 p and w models out there somewhere, I know Glimsharp made them once long ago. For the sniper rifle, I made a Springfield with the 8x Unertl scope used by the Marines, you can download that at Editor's site.

You can replace the M1 Carbine with the M2, I'd suggest putting a bayonet on it, just because it looks cool. There never was a folding stock M2 Carbine, so I suppose you could just leave the M1A1 Carbine as it is. By the way, Para-Marines are cool, make some. Vandal is a skilled texture artist when it comes to player models, aks him for some help if it's needed.

I need to research the Reising SMG more, see if it will work for the Greaser.

I am pretty sure BadKarma is using the Johnson Rifle to replace the Garand (but the Johnson could reload mid-clip 8p ) and the Johnson LMG is already replacing the BAR, just need a uvmap for it.

Yeah, I felt the Thompson was better left in the pack since the most famous picture of the Thompson in WW2 was in the Pacific (Iwo Jima I think) http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/machine-gun-tommy.jpg (BTW, there is the camo on the helmet I was refering to in the other thread)

The 1919A6 looks just like the .30 cal MG, but with a butt on it (fer teh Rambo in us all), and it is already made, I just have not tested it yet.

The M2 carbine was a full auto 750 RPM, so to swap it with the M1 or the greaser wouldn't make sense, I feel either use the Thompson or the M2. More on that later (When Karma comes back)

The Springfield with the 8x Unertl scope used by the Marines might make it's way into the pack ;)

The m1 Garand was also reloadable mid-clip, it's just not modeled in-game, I remember a thread about the Johnson Rifle, I'm looking foreward to seeing it in-game. The thing about the M2 was that it was select-fire, so it could fire semi-automatic, that's what I was thinking of when I suggested it to replace the M1.

for your info, we found some good refs for a Type 5 (Semi-auto = Kar43 replacement) and a Type 11 (FG replacement) and the Type 96 and Type 99 LMG will be the MP44 and MG42 respectively (The difference is the t96 used a 6.5mm and the t99 used a 7.7mm)

NOTE:
there is a t99 rifle and the t99 LMG, both used the 7.7mm, but not the same rifle... think M1 Garand vs the M1 Carbine

Splinter, an alligator for the cow on glider made me laugh, but outside of Australia not much alligators, the Pacific Islands had tons of boar though (some are :kitty: huge, some 4 to 5 feet in the shoulders, and mean as :kitty: )

That is a common size, a little on the small side, the few I have seen were slightly bigger, but 6 feet nose to tail is not uncommon.
And make him SQUEEEEEL when he gets shot. (We had to cut the throat of one for Agriculture class, and you could hear him all over school)

Then again, there are a pissload of cows out there too, so a cow in the Pacific is definately a lot more common than you might think.

Well,i can see everyone has been pluging along like normal.
I am right now,trying to get internet back online,just got everything unpacked in the house yesterday.

To say the past few weeks have been rough,would be a HUGE understatement.

I will be uv maping the lewis machinegun for a .30cal replacement for the usmc.
Will also be starting the model for the garand "johnson rifle"

All i can say to everyone one,is im sorry.
things have been up in the air,only reason i have been able to post this message is due to the fact im working with my brother at his computer job today,so.



ON A SIDE NOTE:About the aussie sounds,jace and his friends did a AWSOME job with the aussie sounds,only problem i can find is there is just to much to choose from "to much good stuff"

holy cow, BadKarma is back (well sort of) good to see, there are a couple of things I wish you showed me before you left (UV mapping was one)

I thought the Lewis was the Bren replacement and the 1919A6 was the .30 cal replacement, the p_ models are cool looking in game for the 1919.

I tried to map the lewis, but I think there needs to be more information added to the model, maybe grouping?? I don't know.

Yes there are a ton of tiny WTFux in that shot, I would probably just drop a blanket over those and not be worried about shade too much, as long as the barrel and the reciever were not using the same one pixel I am happy... But I have kind of gotten attached to that sollid green texture-less image I have been using.

Did you have to go into the model and regroup everything, or did you just keep that "pfft" group and still manage to break them up? I couldn't figure out how to do anything, thanks for working on it

If there is any posible way to re map it I would be more than happy, and if you would like to reskin it (the original map was stretched and made the skin look bad) we would love to add your name to that weapon.

w00t, our pride is out the window right now... if you think you can do a better skin, anim, model (I guarentee it isn't hard to surpass us) please, and when you are done, make sure to make a readme.txt, so we can give credit. Although this actual pack is moving slow, I am learning a damn ton of crap in the backend (made my first model, thanks to the CS-Girl tutorial ;) teh sex!! )

So, yeah, we are 3 guys (2 until BadKarma returns from vacation) trying to do a complete COMPLETE redux of everything you see in the game. (bit off more than we can chew I say, should have done one country at a time, but, oh well) and any help from anyone would be happy. We are trying to get a model to stick to some bones right now for the new axis, but Junior is all about swearing at the computer, so I assume he isnt successful yet:mod:

Hey junior,did you ever find the "gear" for the jap player model i sent you before i left the first time?

joe's finished with the body skin, now we just need a new face.
and the gear to go along with it.

thing is,i delelted the models from my hard drive a while ago,and i no longer have the gear for the jap player model,and i lost the info for the ftp,so i cannot get the file. "if its even there anymore"

once i get the file,joe will start to skin the gear,after that all i need is some new faces "billynair did some",then ill attach the model to the bones,and we will be uped one new jap player model.

oh,the things that go into geting something done.:rolleyes:

I think we bit off a chunk bigger than our plates trying to do a complete PTC all at once, rather than just do the japanese, then thrie weapons, then the usmc, etc...

I made the sprites for the pack forever and a day ago :rolleyes: Were they included in the pack?

Another thing is, I added these models to the DoDec a loooong time ago. And they're just now "finished"?

Damn... ez made some sprites!!

Wish I knew that, the ones in that pack I made from scratch, the design on player icons and mini map items is the Eureka flag. (http://www.users.bigpond.com/xmung/gallery_pics/designs/eureka.jpg) It's Australia's version of the US Confederate Flag.

So no ez, none of your stuff made it in :(

Email me if you still have them and I can put them up as an option :)

And yes the player models were basically finished last year with just a few things to do, the pack is what was recently "finished".

They were the kangaroo player icon and obj sprites. I dont have them anymore.

Damn, could have used them if they were for the aussies :)

I should have posted "help needed" when doing the final touchs to the Aussie pack... I think I spent about 2 days of my annual leave, just on screens, flags, sprites and sleeves!

I'll never do another pack alone... way to much work.
Pity the Japanese part never got finished (like the aussies, very close too), there is a very nice katana in the weapons download... see the first post of this thread :)

Insane, please be advised the "arm" picture was suppose to be flesh color.

some of the player models "sniper,and sub machinegunner" use rolled up sleves.
it just looked odd seeing a man with rolled up sleves, then the rest of the cloth runing down the arms.
the rest of the class's dont use the "arm" model or skin.
I can email you the arm.bmp if you want.
Also if you didnt like the brighter flesh, i guess it could always have a few dirt scuffs on it and such.

It makes things better = )


*Edit* i have emailed you a zip of the player models as they should be. Fleshy arms and such.

The sleeves were a request from a few guys who didn't like the bare arms ;)

I could add the files (from the first post of this Thread) to the Aussie page as an option as well... that is, now I can access the internet again :)
