*EDIT* Updated Textures

Hey all, its been a while. I've been out of the community for about 8 months now. Well, i decided with HL2 comming around etc I might as well get back into it all.

I've been keeping proficcient though, making some random custom stuff for GreenLight, mapping and a little texturing.

Here's 2 textures I hacked together. Some of klien's and uEEtz textures with my frankenstien spin on them.

Here's the redone/tweaked cafe texture

Here's the previous texture

I was planning on using versions of these for GL but whatever, i'm still working away on material for either GL or DOD:S.

Lemme know what you think, I've also got some rather detailed cityscapes i've been working on that I might preview later.

Very nice textures.
Just one complain, the second one seem to "shine" a bit comparing to first. Could you make them more similar.
Ok, there is one more, but even smaller - add small shadow to windows so they would look more "inside".

something is wrong with the door on the second one. it just doesnt seem to fit. maybe its the frame, or the door texture itself. not sure.

gj, tho most mappers find certain textures such as those useless without the general "base texture" included.

Post a base texture for the buildings without windows or some different variants. Mappers need the to be able to continue the continuity of the building and without the variants its difficult.

one last note: the texture size (or scale, resolution) may be to high for HL 1. Try cropping it into 256x256 or smaller chunks and posting them seperately.

Just friendly suggestions. Keep it up.

Watchtower, Thats why they are 512's....sorry, for the confusion.

Also, i'll get the base textures up along with a few other textures in a bit. I'm reinsatlling all my old files from my cd-rws. I still have to find my photoshop and get that installed so I can get you the other textures cause everything else is in PSD format.

Thanks for the comments this far.

Resolution is no problem, one can scale it down in any graphic program. But I still don't like that flat look :).

Added the tweaked/redon cafe texture with some of the suggestions you guys gave.

Thanks for the help. The base textures and some other stuff will be up later today.

PS- i need a host for some .PSDs possibly

*BUMP*

Sorry to bump, i've never done it before

Anyway, I was going to post the PSD's for u guys but i need somewhere I can host them. For those of you that don't know, PSD's are photoshop files, basically the source of the textures. These can ushally show you how textures are put together and help you understand better how texturing works firsthand. It's a good learning tool.

I am going to post PSD's of these textures as well as some other stuff like window/shutter/door that can be pasted on to other walls and modified etc.

PS- need feed back on the updated cafe texture please :D

Well sorry I cant host anything but I can give some feedback,
the old cafe picture dont show up so I cant comment on the difference between new and old.
But the textures looks great and in the classic dod fashion,
personally it's too cartoony for me, I belong to those who like
the realistic look, wich theese are far from.
The door is well used on so many textures I think u should
make a new one.
And make a collection in 256x256 so that it will be used in HL1.

But again wery good craftmanship, keep going...
