after like two months
there have been too many reskins
of the same weapon so i have desided
to make a kar for hlČ (though ..)
bad ass kar time !!
its like 60% done after 2 days
ive tryed to make the bolt as good as
possible

I am very happy with the product so far, very acurate details.

There are 2 things I see that are slightly off, but the good thing is these improvements will actualy reduce the poly count. (see attached)

1) the bayonet chuck on a Kar98 is actualy milled on the end of that clamp that holds that forward grip, so pull the chuck back to the grip, cut off that hidden face, save a poly or 2.

2) there is an added piece on the rear of the bolt assembly. I have a few pictures of the Kar to show, they are shadowed where I need to show you, but you can kind of make it out, there is nothing there. You can chop that piece off, reduce polys and make the gun more authentic.

Like I said, there are a lot of good details, like the cliper-strip guides are even there. Nice work.

(I want to see the left side though, the side we see in game)

Excellent Job! I like what you have so far. We don't have enough models for the kar only the default and one other i think? :confused:

When your done if |Brutal| or even Dillinger could skin this baby that would be awesome. :kitty:

I dont know exactly what you were needing, here are all my ref pics I have, and I added a small (2MG) video, kind of going over the various points of the gun. I saw there are a couple spots fixed, and then others needing fixing, and again, fixes that will drop your poly count.

And now for the happy post, a piece near the bolt, that is on most other bolt action rifles to keep the bolt in place when fired, but not needed due to the bolt design of the `98:

I can, but all I have is the default Windows Recorder and a headset. I used to have some sexy editing software back in the day, but I can't remember where I put them, so I am stuck with that...

OK, i tried to record it, but my system = $#!+, so it doesn't sound at all like what it realy sounds like. The default one is a lot more like how it sounds that what I have, a little slow for my tastes but it works.(I did a demo on shooting bolt-actions, I got 1.1 secs a shot, vs. the current 1.6~1.9 seconds)

In the animations for the T99 for the Japanese pack, I made the animations closer to how they should be, the bolt action was quicker and the hand going back to the trigger was slower.
IRL the hand moving to the trigger is slower than the bolt back and forth, because you are aiming as you move the hand back.

I suggest the defaults, but here is an example of how crappy my sounds are:

I hate people who quibble about poly counts. Whether or not it looks good is the main factor. By all means optimize it but even if its pushing 10k it won't matter.

but like Highbinder said, screw the low enders, that is what the default models are for, yes I am one of the low enders, but that shouldn't stop you guys from making nice models. Eventualy our computers will be upgraded, and we will need good looking (poly-count-doesn't-matter) models.

Here is what I have to say about cutting polys - if it is not needed chop it, but if it will effect something you like, keep it. So, if you don't care about the right hand side because it is only a v_model, chop them, but if you like the 360 view with the right side intact, keep them.

ok brutal told me that he cant get the mesh right
so i guess that this isnt gonna be done
unless others try too
so i here by release the ms3d file of my version
of the k98k so that any person who wishes to try rto mesh it
can do so.

im not visiting thies forums much more so if anyone gets this
meshed and skinned you have the right to release it but
remember to give me credits :vader:
and maybe a little mail with a link so i can see the work :D
