[WIP] dod_neutrino

Hello all and welcome to my post :)

Recently, I released dod_alostbu_v2. It is currently on the Kustom Kettle. With that, people have asked for this classic attack/defend map to be transformed into a capture point map. At first, i thought I wouldnt do it because alostbu is great the way it is and is recognized in that way. After some thinking and more requests, I decided to massively change things around. What I did was cut the map in half to eliminate its great size, retexture the entire thing to have some differennce in appearance, and gave it a new sky and lighting. I added a few paths to prevent a one way map and did some small changes to existing areas to change the attack/defend way of alostbu. I came out with dod_neutrino, which consists of 4 flags, all instant caps. I plan to do a playtest soon to see if any more paths or flags are needed, and to wipe all bugs out. looks great, the lighting is awesome too, great job carnage. Could You also post an overview to show the changes u made.

PS: Your sig shows a bridge is that in the map neutrino?

Are those Jed trees? Can we blow them up??

And could you make the dragon teeth bigger?
They don't provide much cover the size they are.

I got sick of that barn. I only had it there to block VIS, but it only blocks out 3000 epoly. so what if your fps goes down 10 fps, if it does, it will only be for 1 second of walking. I replaced it with the stuka water tower and a tree to fill the void. I think it looks much better!

I did make the dragon teeth 4 times bigger already. i guess ill double that :)

From playing it and seeing development I highly doubt MGs or Snipers would have any advantage over other classes, the large open areas are varied enough in height that the playing field is even. I really like the new textures though, I love the feel, it's much more earthy and not as washed out. (As you might have guessed I'm sick of the pale grass and sand combo, I'm into the darker and fuller greens/browns.) Good job, keep it up.

ok, ive already made some changes. At capture point 2, I decreased the size of that large feild. I took off about 25% of the area. Also, what I may do is store in an undergroud bunker system (similiar like dod_charlie) from point 2 to 3 (since they both have concrete bunkers). Tell me what you think? Should this be done? Should there be a flag to capture in the bunker system?

looks good, better than i can do. looks a little too open, but lots of people like that style (and it fits with the overall flow of the map). im more of a city map person, but this looks like a fun map to play. about underground paths.. only do it if you can do it right, i mean, only if you think it would add to the gameplay. dont just add it because you can.

I have reduced the size of the large field, like i said. I just done have pictures just yet. As for the underground bunker. Why would I add it if I didnt need to? The reason I may add it is for an extra path from A to B and include a 5th flag. Ill try to hook ya up with more pictures tomorrow. Its comming along better than I thought!

still looking good! have you added lighting to those houses yet? they look kinda dark if you have. if not, dont worry about what i just said :P this map might look good with rain.. but then you'd have to add puddles and stuff. i dunno, its up to you. good luck with the underground bunkers, ill check up on this one ;)

that house it part of the allies spawn. it does look a little dark from that angle, but there are lights in it and its easy to find your way around. there are those 2 door exits and another exit down each path. u may be able to see one in that picture (on the right), and the last picture shows the exit from the left.

about rain. i believe it would look good too, but i dont think im gonna add it in :(

not really digging that brick.. really no depts very grey doesnt do the map/brushwork justice

lighting doesnt really work for me :~/ its a tad 2 grey for that sky

looks good though :)

Look at the links you are clicking. Notice how they are ALL the same? I uploaded the picture over the OLDER one, so you will NEVER see the OLDER one, only the NEWER one.

ive altered the lighting, just havent had a chance to compile and take a look at it yet. but If i do have trouble with it, ill PM you but it shouldnt be too bad.

ohhh well nice job on the new house, I remember the house from alostabulalaba, however u spell it, so its a good improvement. Oh and i missed the jpg of the overview is there anyway i can see it?

this looks fun, gj. Good sky, but if this is France Id suggest a new look to the house. they used lots of stucco and bright colored window panes and roofs.
