I like it cause its different from any other scope sprite. I'm using this one. I'd also like to see a allied scope sprite made the same way but w/ a different crosshair. Great job:cool:

It's kind of neat. The only draw back is when you play the Axis Para's the same scope sprite is used for the 98k & scoped fg42. Kind of a bummer when you raise your scoped fg42 and you've got the 98k attached to the scope. Otherwise - a great idea.

You should have made it dark outside of the scope. So the rough edges dont show as much. and plus some people find it an advantage to see outside their X-hair scope.

great, i like this cos its so original. despite the obvious advantage. i am looking forward to the allies one.

[edit] like someone said it would be nice to have a darker edge so it didnt look so jaggeredy.

Slick work mXed, anyone else reminded of Outlaws when they saw this? (Moreso on an earlier post about colored scopes)

I honestly do not think that the black around the edges in the real scopes are there to hamper the sniper, it realy isnt that much more to see, the sway as you are looking does a pretty good job of that, and actualy cancels the idea that the black is to block your view since its movement will show the "hidden" areas anyway.

I think the black masking is there for aesthetics more than anything, like in a movie, you know you are looking through a scope, not because the camera is pushed up against a scope (or binoculars for that matter) but because there is a black mask around the edges.

Removing the fade in would however be an unfair advantage though.

But back to the real thread, I like how you have the 3 lines at the start of the crosshairs, it draws your eye in easier than just 4 thin lines (or 2, if you are technical) I like scopes that draw your eye to the center, the ones I use start thick and taper down to a point in the middle, just helps your eye better.

This idea was explored pretty well near the end of 3.1 [man, sweet custom stuff was coming out like MAD then!], but a lot of people *****ed and I think the dev team's "official" position is that they were "exploits." I don't know if that attitude's loosened up any. I like the concept, myself, and think it should be implemented in some form or other in a default way, but don't be surprised if this gets negative attention until it is. :\
