Hi,

I downloaded some customs skins and models. I've read the FAQ and says to put it in your Sierra/halflife/dod/models/player directory, and overrite the files. I did...But I go in game, and I got defualt models.

But I have steam, like everyone alse. So I figure I have to put these files somewhere in the steam folder...right?

But where...?

Can anyone help, thank you.

C:\Programmer\Steam\SteamApps\your mail\day of defeat\dod\models\player

for player skins

C:\Programmer\Steam\SteamApps\your mail\day of defeat\dod\models

for models like rifles and so on

C:\Programmer\Steam\SteamApps\yourmail\day of defeat\dod\sound\weapons

for weapons sound

get the idea???

Thank you,

So I did that. Put different models into that folder. Launched dod through steam, and i still got defualt models/skins.

i am not sure if this matters, but when I went to put in the 'new' files, there weren't any other ones in that player folder. It's empty except one bmp file that says 're-mapped'.

Any ideas..?

thanks, but I did that. And the models I got, dont show. I still see the defualt that come with the game.

I put them in the right place, triple checked, re-downloaded and replaced again.

I tried in both directories, the steam one and the old sierra directory. And like I said. When I went to place to 2 files into the player folder, where there is suppose to be the dod/models/player/axis-inf folder, nothing.

When I got into dod/models/player it's blanks except one .bmp file that says remapped. But dod runs just fine.

any ides? Do you think I might have to delete the old dod and reinstall steam or somehting?

Unless you've done this before, those folders shouldn't be there already. So I don't know why there's a bmp in one of them already. You're sure you put them in the steam directory? If you didn't install it in the defualt locating, the location that the files needs to be of course is changed. A reinstallation should not be needed.

Ive been having the same problem recently, i re-installed steam and made the folders but still nothing, would changing my config to read-only have caused this problem?

i've created those folders for custom skins but nothing changed, and that happened to me when my steam updated dod to 1.3 !! never happened to me
so what's wrong?

im using low poly models, so if i extract them into that folder, everything will be correct and fine?

for player models the directory would be:

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\blahblabhlbahbldaslfjiodcuad fj@lkadfjlkasdfj\Day of Defeat\dod\models\player \(and then the corresponding name of the model like "axis-inf" or "us-inf")

and then stick them inside the "brit-inf" or whatever folder
