DOD_SECTOR4 by Astro

July 20, 1944, Somewhere in France

Allies and Axis are fighting for control of a city on the outskirts of a key military harbor...

- Allies move up secure the town and the much need route to the military harbor, holding u-Boat sub-pens that are destroying allied convoy's.

- Axis must capture the town, to block the route to military harbor.

Textures: Kami Plat, Hlbasics

Models: H&K, floMatic. DoD

Thanks: CilppiZ - for making the map, then letting me edit it and make it compatible for 1.2. Then thanks to everyone that gave suggestions on how to re-work the map.

Also very big thanks to Silverghost for the great looking overview!

Below I have comparison shots, not every single one is the exact angle do to the fact I moved several buildings and a new angle was needed to see how much changed.

Also what these shots don't show are the new middle routes through the buildings I added.

The new version makes it more mature, finished looking map compared to the old one. Nice going!

...well thats for you to find...there are around 10 bazookable spots as well as 3 tnt spots per side, but each side just gets two tnts therefore you have to be careful what you blow up and make sure it will help you the most

good idea for the tnt, forces people to use some strategy instead of just run/kill/die

The only thing I'd say is to add some more stuff to the streets and vary your textures more. A more varied Texture set would add alot to your map and makes it look very polished and profesional if done right.

Yeah well the thing was the textures were all lined up ahead of time with a great deal of windows and since this was just a remake I didn't want to change too much to the point where people would struggle to remember the older version. Another problem I ran into was after I re-did the streets the r_speeds jumped and I could never find the problem the layout did not help with such long streets, so i'm just happy to be finally done with it all.

The rubble could be less flat if r_speeds allow, as well I think this map would look great with more varied textures, also if time/limits allow.

I dream about (at least) one good destroyed city skybox that DoD devs could add, sigh.
