I did two new death animations so far. I'm trying to make faster or more dramatic deaths. You can click below to download them.

quite nice to see new player anims :-)

your main problem imo is with his feet, on the first anim he is kicking with his feet wierdly...

the 2nd one look a lil like a muslim in his pray that gets a shot.

I absolutely love the die backwards one, the kicking at the end is quality lol

The head shot one though seems a bit weird to me. First the head doesn't seem to moved back as much as i would expect and I dont like the way he brings up his arm to break his fall. i would like it better if his arms jus hung as his sides and have him first fall to his knees, then fall forward snapping his head forward from its backward position so it kinda slams into the floor. An example of what I mean is in 'The Longest Day' when the para who lands in the river gets shot by the soldier with the SMG. If you don't know what I mean I'll knock up a gif of it lol

Great work though, nice to see some new death animations. Any chance of a new die forward? I hate the default one.

Thanks for the comments. I've changed the headshot animation a tiny bit to make it look better (obviously, haha).

As for doing more animations, I'm gonna try to redo all of the deaths.

They are very nice Podunkian, My only alterations would be to make the die backwards one shorter because after seeing it 60+ times in one game it could start to feel overused and over dramatic. (Basically make it a little simpler)

I absolutely love them tho. :D

Ooh, their not bad. Bit stuttery though but I guess your doing it in Milkshape? Pain in the ass that - I've started using Max 5 and eased keyframing for animating.

I did some tweaks to the death anims my self when I was playing around with the animated faces. Made the player models wince or looked shocked and slowly close their eyes as they fell to the ground.

How do I use the die_backwards one? Is it even possible?

:edit:

Nevermind, I figured it out myself.

I really liked the fact that you gave us a more than a picture to show what you are working on. I really like that backwards animation alot and I used the headshot one to replace the die_simple animation 'til I see the rest of your work. Feels like we're trying out some beta thing within a beta, if you understand.

anyway...good work. I'm looking forward to the rest of them animations.
