Hi there, I was wondering if light_environment settings or any of those can affect wpoly, like, darker the shadows, the higher the wpoly or something(this is just an example, not sure if these are true). I'm asking this coz you might remember my map dod_edge2 wich had really dark lightning, now I'm working on another version with new light wich is slightly lighter but it seems my wpoly count has increased. well, here's the question :) can lightning settings affect wpoly?

I don't think so, but I know alot of those fx lights (the blinking ones) in one area can affect cpu load.

I think ppl often get confused about this because not using full light and RaD will give you mis-leading Rspeeds.

I sincerely doubt lighting affects your wpoly when fully rendered. But I dont know that for an absolute fact. Let me just say, I've never encountered any evidence to the contrary.

Several times I experienced strange fact (not 100% confirmed though), that r_speeds changes between compilations (with no changes to map). This could be theoretically possible, BSP map can be cut in different ways.
