Fountain with Particles?

Has someone (NC17?) tryied a water fountain using new particle system?

If so, plz, put it here so I can rip it for my map :D

You could do it, but I wouldn't advise it, particles generators are really laggy. You'd have to isolate the fountain in like a spawn area or something first of all, and then I'd use a set up like this:

multiple particle generators in the center of the fountain, then corresponing targets moved out from the partical gens. Next set the particle generator's gravity property to something really low, like .05, or in this application you could increase the particle's initial velocity instead, just make sure to apply some gravity so the particles will shoot out, then fall into the fountain. Use trial and error till you find the right settings.

Ok i have made 2 small fountains using particle_shooters

They cause no preformence hit unless you check the "ripple when hit water" flag and even when this is checked you will not notice any preformance hi unless you stand very close to the shooters

Here is a pic of the 2 fountains with "ripple when hit water" flag checked (it is checked in the .rmf so you will haveto uncheck it if you choose to)

yeah, that looks like about what I was thinking...pretty cool

combine that effect with a fountain model, that would be great
