I'll use it because it looks like a Browning M1917, but you might want to add a strap to it so it looks more realistic, I mean, one man ramboing a Maxim is kinda, tough.

Well if all you wanted was a 1917 watercooled, there already is one. As for a strap, I'm not really sure what you mean.

I have some questions :

- When are you going to fix the transparencies on the player models?

- Which weapons besides the Maxim are already released for the Russians?

- Where can I get that p_ model of the Mosin Nagant?

Thanks in advance :)

Thanks in advance :) When I release the final pack, but you can fix the transparency anways with HLMV.

The SVT, Mosin Nagant, Nagant pistol, Tokarev, PPSh, PPS-43, F1 grenade.

With the Mosin Nagant download. :)

Everyone used the Maxim in one form or another. Hell, the 1919 was based off it, IIRC.

Stan, it's a Carbine replacement.

MaDStaN
03-25-2004, 10:57 PM
is it on dod editing center?

and it makes sense to make the sks for the garand becuase it loads from a stripper clip too, but the svt is more like the garand because it has a bigger rifle round and the sks uses the intermediate 7.62x39 round so it would fit the carbine role. is there a way to switch them or would the reloads just be weird

Nice but you should have made a new p/w_model for it. Right now they look like Browning mgs.

"I'll use it because it looks like a Browning M1917, but you might want to add a strap to it so it looks more realistic, I mean, one man ramboing a Maxim is kinda, tough."

Nah ;)

PS. Awesome sounds! Where'd u get :D?

PS2. Just checked out the animations: the reload is perfect :D!

Plus the carbine version was shorter than the SKS. The SKS loaded from an integral 8 round box mag and was adopted as the standard infantry weapon by the end of WW2 (though they still didn't have many fielded, yet). But yeah, you can't just rename it because it'll have bad timings and no melee attack. I'm converting the SVT over to a Garand model as well, though.

Don't remember where I got the sounds. I think it was from Devin's MG-42/43 pack. But I could be wrong. Thanks about the reload, though, I thought it was pants.

You guys can download the SVT here: http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/planethalflife/Editor321/svt40.zip Didn't anyone check Editor's site?

Its nice but makes it look more like a Vickers than the Russian 1910 (and before anyone says owt I know the Vickers is basically the maxim lol). Make a good brit mg if we ever get one lol

@ Cheeto. I think what Ripa means about the P models is that the Maxim had duel handles with a thumb trigger in the centre while your maxim has the same pistol style grip of the browning.

I think it makes the gun look more like a Russian maxim with the groove thingys on the barrel jacket. Finnish Maxims had smooth barrel jackets.

Yeah basically :D! Damn you people are picky. :p Well the problem is that if I'd made it double handles, then imagine how he'd have looked when holding it or firing it. So when I re-animate, I'll add double handles then, but right now, you gots to live with this.

And I've seen Russian 1910 Maxim pics that had smooth barrels and no snowcaps.

Any reason the rounds are fed from the right side but exit on the right?

Ska Wars
03-28-2004, 09:37 AM
The way DoD is coded mate. Same way the Bren guns shell eject from the right despite the eject slot being on the under side of the gun lol

You can turn the shells off but not change the point they spawn from i dont think.
