if in levels there were like ai soldiers that like run from place to place or are like prone and looking around in some areas and saying commands and swimming and hiding behind walls and just shooting but not shooting anyone and maybe following you and saying commands and are prone. "and maybe like for the spawn area instead of just like a metal pole for the machine gun there could be someone on it like lookiing around."

IT would be ausome. note my last sentence, the one that would actually work.

It should be possible.. I've seen a Halloween themed map that used Skeletons with guns as the spawn protection...

Dummo about all the AI models and that but the MG gun thing aint possible from a modellers point of view unfortunately

The MG barrel is part of the map and no an external model so unforutanely we cant edit it by putting a gunner on it, I tried to do it a while back but couldn't.

You could make an MGer model but it would be the job of the mapper to add it.

i think it is possible. make an area that triggers both the func_tank and the model sequence to shooting or something. problem is maybe sometimes the barrel wouldnt be aligned to the actual tracers of the tank entity

I actually thought about this one for a bit, and how cool it would be to run up to a sandbag wall or something similar next to a NPC soldier model that would peek up and fire off a couple rounds, and then duck down again... Kind of a looping animation sequence to give a map ambience... Of course, the drawbacks are:

1. It would look absolutely ridiculous to have an Allied soldier doing this in a section of the map controlled by the Axis... He wouldn't even be facing the action... or if the fighting was taking place further up the map it would be out of place firing at nothing...

2. Talk about confusion... You wouldn't know if it was the NPC or a real player half the time...
