Hi all.

Back again with another mapmodel; this time it's a dead horse with a choice of two versions - One with its belly ripped open and entrails spilling out in a pool of blood, and the other version without the gore, if you think that's a bit over the top for your map.

As usual, comments and feedback are appreciated.

Get it here (http://freespace.virgin.net/es.dawe/Tolchok_models/) .

Horrible as in 'horrible model' or horrible as in 'horrible subject'?

If you mean the latter, that is the reason I included a version without the gore.

some of those a pretty nice :)

not sure how the horse would fit in with dods new image, what model does it replace (if any)

Joe Enders,

It is a stand alone model, not a replacement for another.

I like it! It's all gory and stuff which makes it realistic. Gj

Isnīt too much exagerated?

The model is nice... anyways (i would use "a" version... too much gore...) :)

But... a german "panther" tank might be greatly appreciated here

hehehe

divisionazul - no, not exaggerated. If anything, it's not gory enough. I was inspired to make it this way because of the number of accounts I've read describing the horrific carnage of horses in WWII. While the armies of the Western Allies where mechanised, the Wermacht was largely horse drawn, and unremittent attack on German columns moving in daylight by Typhoons and Thunderbolts made slaughtered horses a very common sight. For harnessed horses there was simply no escape, especially since they where more often than not towing ammunition.

No panther yet. I have to finish the civilian car, and the DUKW first.

To be honest, I think it's a wonderfully realistic model. I commend you on it... Nice work.

I've always, always loved your work. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Very nice model. More gore the better :D

My only suggestion would be to make the blood a bit higher res. Right now it looks like it was 32x32 scaled up to 128x128.

Other than that, good job. Should make the people who want more gore in the game happy :)

Have you thought of making a normal standing model of the horse and maybe an animated one with it prancing or running or walking or something? It could come in handy if someone wanted to make a horse drawn cart move or something :)

Kami - Your probably right - I scaled it up from 64 X 64 so that I could get a less jagged margin at the edge of the pool. Something else to go back and fix :(

Sly Assassin - I did think of making a standing version (not running though) but I thought it would have limited use because unless I did a dieing animation, nothing would happen if you shot it (and everybody would).

Think of the cow on Charlie you can't kill, someone could add it in like that, someone else could add the running/dieing animations if you don't have the time or know how to do it yourself.
