So heres my questions
1. If I download a skin can with it on any server or just special ones?
2. After I download them where do I put them?
3. Will it screw up my dod?
4. Can anyone tell me where to find some cool American skins?

olayer model wont mess dod up as long as the models are 1.1 if the models look wierd just del them steam will use regular model after u del them

1. Any server
2. you need to put them in your steam folder. (C:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/Day of Defeat/dod (for models/weapons/flags and misc they go into the "models" folder, which you need to create on your own. Sprites go into "sprites", player models go into models/player/nameofthemodel. IE us-inf

I dont have 1.1 or steam and I refuse to get them so can I still do this with 1.0

Actually no. There are plenty of servers that kick people for customizing content to prevent any possible advantages customizers might get (louder sounds, brightskins etc).
