Mini Map?

Does anyone have a tutorial or a how-to for making mini maps? I am working on a new map right now and I wanted to make sure it had everything. (For those in question, I am referring to the small display in the upper right coner of your screen that shows you position on the map) Botman had a tool called bspslicer that I used for other things...do we use that for these mini maps?

I did not see anything about this on the forums, so please forgive me if I overlooked it somewhere.

Thanks,
CB

Thanks!

I see that bsp slicer is still a valid option. guess I will go do that. I do not see any information on where the file goes though. Is there an actual tutorial out there for this?

If not, there will be soon once I get it all figured out. :)

Do you just put that second file into the overviews folder?

I appreciate the help,
CB

yea, i used bsp slicer for mine, but u need to be good with a paint program to make it look nice.

Or you can do it this way (http://www.cg-dev.com/hltv/?section=tutorials&sub=overviews)

the overview must be 1024x768 and be a bmp format.

it should be named the same as you map eg dod_map.bmp

then u need to input some numbers in a txt file to the map is in the right place, see the link below.

Here is a good tutorial (http://www.stats.jolt.co.uk/index.php?page=overview.htm)

Been doing graphic design and web stuff for over four years, so I'm good to go with Photoshop. ;)

Thanks for the info, I will put it to good use. :)

Okay, I have a tutorial in the works for doing this in dod. One other thing happened while I was working on this file that I cannot recreate.

While messing around in spec mode, I got an edit overview menu that popped up on the right of my screen. Does anyone know how to bring that menu up on command?

Thanks,
CB
