Bullet decals on textures

Im still workin on my map and im trying to figure out how to make certain textures (like grass, dirt, and tree backgrounds) not show bullet hits when they're shot (the bullet decals). I know i've seen this in almost every dod map but i can't figure out how to do it to my own textures. I'm new to wally and mapping itself, so bear with me i'll probably have more questions :P

I think that decals are shown on every solid -brush texture in DoD.
If yes - why?

Might have something to do with materials.txt
Though don't go editing it because it can only contain a certain count of textures and if every custom map included one it would mess it up for others.

i think in the entity properties u need to make it "solid"
or you could make it illusionary and clip it.
