Just a thought...

Would anyone be interested in converting over all the old Beta 1.X models to 1.1 just to see what it'd be like? It'd be kinda trippy to play DoD with that roaring Tommy or the blocky player models.

Err, lemme clarify, this isn't a request, just wondering if anyone else thought this'd be fun. Sorta like a litmus test.

So no one has any thoughts on this at all?

Would be good from a nostalgic point of view but not sure how practical it would be....

actually it might make the new ones seem really good when you got them back :D

I'd be interested in seeing the progression that DoD has gone through since its earliest days. I came to it the day 2.0 was released, so I've never seen anything earlier than that. Full packs with sounds, models, sprites and maps built to recreate specific periods in DoD's development would be very interesting.

However, I'm afraid I can't contribute anything as I've not kept anything past 3.1 [only the previous working version containing my customs--I suppose Steam stomps on this practice...].

Of what little I've seen of versions prior to 2.0, what I'm most interested in is the gray weapon-selection sprites one file of which were accidentally included with all versions up to 3.0 [if I'm not mistaken, they did a sweep of the mod folders to drop all unnecessary files for 3.1...]. I attached it to the following post as I didn't think of posting it before editting this one. >_<

Sorry about the silly double-post. I hit Submit on the previous one before I'd finished my thought. :\

If you want to see what I mean, download the attachment and rename it to .SPR instead of .TXT.
