Hi mappers. My younger brother has a DoD map based on Where Eagles Dare and has just put together a site with some nice screenies ( http://www.dodwhereeaglesdare.4t.com ). He's run into some problems compiling the map for release though, since installing Steam. If anyone has the time and inclination to give it a play he's distributing it via e-mail (address on the site) for the time being, until he's resolved his Steam-related issues.

(link fixed)

Sorry `bout the link chaps! Not sure why it's not working, the PC I'm using to post is so desperately in need of a good defrag and reinstall that it throws wobblies about the weirdest things. Will investigate and try and fix.

No excuses, the problem is me. I'm a plank. The correct address is:

http://www.dodwhereeaglesdare.4t.com

That oughtta work. However individual pages may disappear and reappear every now and then as he can't stop playing around with the page. Also, the whole site will be moving to more permanent hosting at some point - but I'm sure a redirection prompt will be left behind.

btw AFG, if you haven't seen W.E.D. then you should be at the video shop, not browsing the `Net! Seriously, you'll love it. :)

Looks good, but some of the textures look like ass. Also, you should make that helicopter a model.

Not actually my map but I will pass comments and suggestions on. The textures do let it down a bit but I believe he did most of them at work without any decent software (Windows paint program mostly). And Nomad, there were helo's in WW2 but only in limited use on the Eastern Front. However there IS a helicopter in Where Eagles Dare so blame the inaccuracy on Alistair Maclean! :)

Germans had a Focke-Achgelis FA330 Bachsteize.

There's one in the Royal Air Force Museum, London.

Thats nice man, but it doesn't have anything to do with the thread.

Anyways, map looks interesting, like it'd be fun to check out. Outside lighting could use ... work. Make it dark to match sky, not bright.

The map looks alright, the textures are to clean and brushwork is simple

The maps looks pretty close quarters though and i cant stand close quarters maps in ww2 games
