*UPDATE* FOR PICS OF THE MAP SCROLL DOWN!*

Hi there, this might be kinda a ridiculous thread but I don't know how to find a texture artist elsewere. Anyway, here are the pics of my own made prefab bridge:

And these are the pictures I based myself on(took them myself in the pegasus museum :p):

I can give you a ****load of scanned pictures, an overhead map, and even the orders Major Howard received for the bridge. Make sure you don't call it Pegasus ingame.

that looks like the bridge in one of the brit missions in COD.

because that's the pegasus bridge :p anyway, 2ltben, i'm gonna call it dod_spearhead coz I know dod_pegasus is taken already. I got some really good ideas for this map as well. Anyway, I'm not going to remake the whole area because wpoly count would be a bit to high :/

If it's going to be one of the 2 daytime counterattacks, it should be in Benouville, the Germans didn't get that close to the bridge.

I mean don't call the bridge itself Pegasus in the game, it wasn't called that until after the war. The other bridge was named Horsa.

Pictures look great.
If wpolies are too high (looking at the structure, I'm sure they will. Even if the most strategic brushes are func_wall), you will certainly want to convert your bridge prefab into a model. Glidias made some posts on this subject.
If nobody can help you I'll try to find my old metal bridge texture set...hidden somewhere on CDs between 2Gigs of textures.
Make everything to get decent r_speeds though, otherwise nobody will help you.

Why not try to edit some pre-existing textures? I'd love to help out with this, if you need any texture editing pm me.

so all you have 'finished' of your map is that bridge ?

no, but I knew someone was going to answer this :p like, why texture something if you aren't sure you will release your map? well, your right. But you just gotta trust me in some way :)

@2ltben, I'm not going to call the bridge the pegasus bridge, I know it's been changed after the war.

@mythic kruger, I could use a model but then I don't have a shadow :/ I might could use a water model low poly block(that would reduce r_speeds as well)

@ender, I don't know anything about texturing, that's why I made this post :p

I didn't say I'd texture for you I was just wondering if that was all you had done.

don't get me wrong, with "you" I meant: the one who would texture my bridge. Anyway, I'll post a screenshot in a few houres to show you what I've done already.

I think I'm just going to bump this to a WIP thread(if a mod wants to change the title to preview: dod_spearhead). wpoly count is highest in the allies first spawn area and that's around 1000, but there aren't going to be any fighting and when you leave the spawn area you'll have 700 wpoly(It's going to be lowered much more because of models and all that instead of the brushes). Going to place one more hedge in the middle to block the vis and then it'll be around 500-700. The pictures you're going to see now are actually useless for the morning version of the map because there won't be any fighting(offcourse you can look for cover in the trenches to shoot incomming enemies and all that who are trying to cross bridge), but there will be fighting in the night version of the map. Well this are 3 shots from my morning version of the map where the allies have to hold down the axis comming across the bridge.

the concrete bunkers at the last picture look strange.

I think you should scale down the ground texture. Looks a little umm...big.

Quakah

yes, but I look at it on another way, you made it probably to actually make it the use of a grass texture. I wanted some sort of mud texture with a little grass on it. So I saw your texture and I scaled it up a few times and I thought: this is the one :p So actually it's mud with grass here and there :) and wich is also good for r_speeds(wich are fixed now(500 around the bridge(wich is still brush based))) reduction ;) Anyway, thanks for the great textures ;) + another screenshot

(you can see wpoly count 1152 but on the ground you have like 500-800, sometimes 900, on the side of the bridge with the actual fighting 400 right now)

Don`t mean to high jack but, 2ltben, I would like to get the info you`ve got. This is one of my favorite WW2 stories. Read the book by Ambrose and did a little more resaerch but could never find really good pictures of the bridge. Thanks.
