[Release] dod_mittelwerk

New map custom releases are becoming scarce, so be sure to check out those that do get released so that we can keep the custom mapping community alive.

This map is set in a German V2 rocket production facility. It's a hybrid of linear and non-linear design for flag placement.

Download dod_mittelwerk here (http://www.edgefiles.com/file.x?id=/hlgaming.com/dodec/maps/dod_mittelwerk.zip)

Check it out!

Hm, you have forgotten to add details.

So, what, like flags everywhere in like a clusterfu** of flags?

Ok, more details:

There are four flags, and all of them take two people to capture. A large portion (more than half) of the map is set indoors, and in a two level structure. What did I mean by a hybrid of linear and non-linear flag placement? You can travel along a single route between any three of the four flags, but to get all of them you will need to backtrack. Also, each team has two exits to their spawn, so which flag you go to first is up to you (two are closer to allies spawn, and two are closer to axis spawn). This means that you start your line at a different point. It's really not that complicated, and if you play it, you may see what I mean, or you may just think of it as non-linear.

It may not be the prettiest map in the world, but give it a shot.

Haha, I helped HollowDog play test this map. I was quite impressed since I've played a lot of maps in my time.

It is a fresh new look, since it's not just "go one way to flag and cap" it's a mixture of open spaces, hallways, outside, inside and everywhere.

He did a good job on it, there R_Speeds are good, no lag I felt when we had a server running between us. And maps don't really have to look "good" to be playable. One can make a great looking yet terrible playability, map an think it's good.

It's all on balance. Download the map, it's quite good and fun to play.

Peace out.

To be truthful, it doesn't really look that good. But it seriously looks cool nonetheless and I'll be sure to check it out.

yeah, it really looks good, nice features as well, it's just that dod has(or is supposed to have) maps that look good and play good. This map really lacks detail so yeah :/ I think it's still nice though, thanks for this map anyway, you're doing good ;)

This map would be great for Lans! Anyone have any good waypoints made for this beauty yet?
