Im not 100% where is this garand from, i think it's nomad's garand.

Anyway... i downloaded the garand pack some1 made, it's pack with all kind of skins, some of them by dillinger.

anyway there were 2 garands in there, one MOH style and another with black metals, i took the metals and recolored them a little, made them more black.
I took the edge of the rifle from the MOH style, the model had sling metal holders which i kicked out since there is no sling ^_^ and the wood is a recolor by me and i added the MOH metals that are in the wood texture.

It's a Lego work, some model changes that im doing for the first time and also recoloring.
The gloves are dillinger's gloves that were edited by me a little and released a while ago, and the sleeve texture was also edited by me, it's from dillinger/marksman sleeve pack.
Also thanks for strider and marzy for the US sleeve (not gonna get into it right now ^_^)

I hope i didn't forgot any names\credits.
This is my first work i acctualy change stuff in the model itself (more like remove but nm) and... also one of the first works i really like unlike others i have made which were ... ahh... another recolor.

Comments are welcome as always, cheers.
Small ingame picture:

UPDATE:
Same Garand with a Matching color sling that was recololred a bit, new edit for dillinger's sleeve and dillinger's axis new camo sleeve (original) and... dillinger's V2 gloves that were never officaly released that were edited by me, more credits above.

The Thing is Pvt.Malarkey uploaded the same garand model but with a bayonet and a sling, and i thought that a sling could be really a nice enhance to it, so here you go and there's a link for the Thread where the original model Pvt.Malarkey uploaded, model by Nomad.

imo, dont take it the wrong way anyone, but all these garand skins/models look the same, same textures and metal textures... i dont see any dif between most of these garands, and yet they're done by different people. still a good job i guess, but it just looks like any other super high poly, bright skinned garand.

Looks nice, I'll check that out in-game.

Lets get a new model, I'm getting bored of that one! Perhaps where the metal parts are not so pronounced. One with more of a worn feel?

Thanks for the comments, well you are right the model was kinda over used but i think it's just another version to the party.

Another model you say ? i would love that.

I'm pretty sure the originals (unedited) came out of the following pack (available at editor321's site):

Nomad and Polygons M1 Garand Pack For V1.0

Credits:
Model:Nomad
Skin: Polygon
Skin: Slinky
Skin:Mercatorn
Dark Brown Wood(Brown.zip): Winters86(R3aveR)
P Models:RealyPssd
Animations:Dod Team (1.0)
Covert: Marksman(Model) and Editor321(Skins, zip, host)
Sound: Jacobson(clipin)

The original pack contained multiple skins for nomad's m1 garand model. Of the included were:

Brown wood, MoH Version, Red Wood, Shiny Metal (probably the version you modified. Either way they look similar), and Slinky V3.

At least I'm pretty sure about what I mentioned above. BTW, not saying you stole it at all, just posting the credits for you to check to see if everythings right, etc.

Looks good though. Nice job! I'm torn between this, and the one Brutal released the other day that used MaRzY's hi poly garand. Great job though.

Thanks :D

yes you are right it's the shiny metal version that was recolored a little, the edge of the rifle is from the moh version, the wood is a recolor of the shiny + the metals that are in the wood textures from moh.

This is cool, but (there's always a but) could you put the default sleeve texture and hand model on it please. I prefer the defaults. Maybe a default v2 release :D

I would be very gratefull if you could do this because this garand is pretty sweet!

[I would do it my self but I haven't a clue how! :D]

That's because most people use Nomad's Garand model, and for some reason the metal on all of the garands with that model have those funny black lines all over them. No one seems to make reddish wood weapons anymore, all the Garands are brown of some shade. I took the liberty of editing the skin burtal made for the enhanced garand for myself, making it more red. Anyway...

One thing you need to learn about Geocities website hosting, it doesn't, it crashes at the first sight of bandwidth usage.

Does anyone have a mirror for the gloveless version. I'm using the original in the realism pack, but the wood is a bit dark.

Nice model, but allow me to interject a comment here....

I swear, those Counter-Strike gloves are going to be the death of DOD.

Mortar

They are just gloves, they are not "Counter-Strike" Gloves.
Dillinger made them, i think they look great and realisitc, of course a Hi res. hand texture could own but since we got none so far i think Those gloves give the model a nicer look, anyway... you are being totaly melodramatic... Ruin dod... no.
They are custom first of all and 2nd you could take them off with a simple compile and decompile.
