I would like to see some Axis skins, yes.

Can't remember how they looked but I wanna see how they turn out :)

Otacon
11-23-2003, 09:06 PM
3.1 they were a mix of heer and SS. lets see...grenadier(k98 and k43) and unter wore dark gray heer outfits, and the other classes wore some sort of SS camo pattern. They even had the SS collar tabs if I remember correctly.

Otacon
11-23-2003, 09:24 PM
hmm, something I just realized about the skin. The seargent class, and whoever else uses that skin, wears a winter jacket. I'm pretty sure rank insignias didn't go on the outside of those particular jackets.

no i was also expecting a dog model :(

btw now that i think about it, the only person who came that close of making dogs was HS the Wasp when he did a dog camoed helmet :p

Not much of a Diff between 3.1 and 1.0 model textures so i did this quick

I believe this is Russ.Conscript's Texture
-EDIT im still working on it so expect some changes

11-23-2003, 09:48 PM
Personally I think the Heer camo helmet for the STG guy is way to tacky. So I think a netted, or dull regular helmet would do.

Splinter
11-23-2003, 09:49 PM
Otacon-Some of the tanker Jacket did have the Sarge patch..But they were poorly stiched...if u guys want i could make a little detail on the jacket texture making it look like the patch was stiched :p

The Topic is "Axis Wehrmacht"

Otacon
11-24-2003, 04:19 PM
It's fine like it is if they actually did put them on, I just didn't know that was the case. Make sure you ask Russ if you can use his skin though  It looks nice, but I'd definately go with just the regular black helmet on him too.

Yup yup! I love that ;)

I also think the uniform should be darkened a tad.

Dying Robot
11-25-2003, 12:47 AM
I checked out the Axis Wehrmacht WIP, but that wasn't exactly what I was looking for.

I'm looking for an entire pack with uniforms like the grenadier in the Axis picture in this topic.

No camouflage, just Heer green (I think that's what they're called) all over.

Hope I'm not too demanding here :)

here's what I'm after: http://dodec.hlgaming.com/images/heer_feldgrau_lf.jpg

SimonS
11-25-2003, 09:21 AM
Theres only one model for Axis and US infantry
and those models only include 2 body Textures

So you can't have a seperate skin for each class, unless i'm mistaken?

Ska Wars
11-25-2003, 09:55 AM
You can very easily have a different skin for each player class (with a few exceptions) but it requires a bit of editing with the submodels.

its been a while since I made stuff for dod so my mind is a bit blank here but here goes:

Each class has its own body model, but the problem is they share the same skins so if you change the skin for say the rifleman, the Sniper and support guy will change too.

So here's what you do. Decompile the model and rename the skin that goes on the rifleman to 'lightskin' or summat like that. Then copy it and rename the copy 'Heavyskin' and so on till you have a skin for each of those classes. Do the same with the sarge skin till you have one for him and one for the MG.

Then open up each of the body submodels im Milky in turn and assign the right skin to the model. e.g. open the lightbody submodel and assign the lightskin to it and so on.

Then compile the model. You'll now have a skin for each class so you can edit them to your hearts context.

As I say though, its been ages since i made owt for dod so i might of made a few mistakes there. IF you have any problems though jus contact me and I'll see if i can help. I'd do it for you but my milky is playing up due to new graphics drivers lol

If you want those exact skins you can easily do it yourself. Those are just the default models, all you need to do is open the feldgrau models in HLMV, export each of the textures, open up the default 1.1 player models(Jed posted them in the main MSA forum) in HLMV, and import the feldgrau textures over the ones on the default. then just stick it in the correct folder and you're all set.

Hehe, your so behind the times Ska =P You can decompile, but right now you can't compile player models, cause there isn't a working compiler that works with the new animations.

Man, HLMV refuses to work with 1.1 models for me.

I've got the textures and all but if I can't get to the 1.1 model it's pointless.

Not that I can't download them from DodEC but that I can't open the 1.1 models with HLMV. If you can, could you please do me the favour of importing the textures from the pack on the models?
