Noticed a lot of people asking for hi-res skins on the default sleeve models. So, I went to work.

So far, I've got the Allies sleeves done. I own an M1941 Field Jacket, so I took some 1600x1200 digital pictures of it close up to get the stitching texture.

I've got a bit more to do to it, but it's basically done. Let me know what you think.

Super, fantasticoooo.

This is just what i've been looking for, to go with my mid range custom sleeves, i thank you...:)

Maybe could do with some more definition where the material groups up, like folds and creases, still there looking great.

Just finished the Brit sleeve, and I really love how it turned out. But the problem is that the DoD team's Brit sleeve model BLOWS, and it stretches the texture so much, it ruins all the details.

Here's the British sleeve on the mesh:

Unfortunately, since the mesh on the British sleeve model blows big time, it ends up looking like it does below because of all the stretching.

Marzy, I am looking at you. Remesh the Brit sleeve model!! :)

Yeah no probs...:)

The trick is... don't use the British sleves. Just rename the American sleve, you can tweak it a bit, if you think it's necessary, which I don't.

Aha! Good thinking!

Thanks! :)

EDIT - I renamed the us_sleeve.smd to brit_sleeve.smd, but get an error while compiling.

If you're looking for help you're going to have to be more specific. I just tried it myself with a model and had no problems.

Not sure what the error is. I just see the window up long enough to see it say "********ERROR*********" and then it closes.

Well, off the top of my head here's a few ideas:

Try deleting the hitboxes out of the qc file.

If you took the sleeve model off another weapon, make sure it's on the same skeleton as the model you're compiling.

Make sure the texture name is the same as that being refrenced by the sleeve smd.

And you should really be compiling with a batch file, so you can see what's going on. Lookhere (http://www.dayofdefeat.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=197) for a tutorial by me on doing just that.

Thanks for the hints. Problem is that I was using an arm with a different skeleton. Fixed! :)

Also - your garand is next on my skin list, now that I am getting some free time back.

Working on stuff. Brit sleeve textures are still giving me a pain in the ass. I may release the US ones to hold you over. :)
