Where To Find Map Models?

10-28-2003, 03:45 PM
does anyone know where i can find models like tables, vehicles, and that sort of stuff, maybe a few trees and bushes?

i hear all about people changing the weapon/player models, but have never seen these types of models, and ive had a quick search on google and couldnt find anything...

so any help ?

thanks

first you should have the HL model viewer, its on the FAQ.

look in ur dod directory, dod/models/mapmodels

and there are model by the guys who r making greenlight...cant remember the site.

I dont belive u havnt found anything on a google search. i searched "dod models" and "half life models" and found loads of stuff. :)

ok i said i only did a quick search....

i thought posting in here would be quicker then searching google...

and now im searching google again for "dod models"

"JP1.7 Operational satellite-derived tropospheric winds for DoD ... "

hmm doesnt sound too promising....

"Re: [hlds_linux] dod update mirror?"

still nothing here

"DoDNetwork.com Forums -> Custom skins for DoD"

i dont want custom skins.....

and that just the first 3 sites.... ive searched upto like 10 pages on google and not found anything useful, as ive said, and ive searched google for "halflife models" and all it comes up with is player/weapon models.....

what else can i search for that may help me....?

and i have hlmodel viewer, and ive looked through all the dod models, and used a few but i was looking for more....

all these experienced modelers out there only make player/weapon models ?

in google, type day of defeat map models and that should bring up more.

Also alot of the sites that have player skins and weapon skins will also have map models, so its worth checking those out, also look through these forum using the search function for map models.

I have to admit that there ain't a lot of map models out there. If you check the Models, Skins, and Animations forum here you will find loads of Player and weapons models but very few map models.

There are a few model packs out there. flomatic has done a few models and Invasion Works still has a model pack for download.

I didn't use google to find them , they are too difficult to find using Google.

Just ask around in here or the mapping forum some people will make them, but thats kinda rare. Bfr any of you begin to hint at me.

I'm still working. I'm fixing the first version so it uses proper smoothing groups and tweaking the skin, also I'm improving the ass poor propellers i glued on the BETA. ( for those not knowing wtf im on about its a C-47 model destroyed/normal/scale with desert/normal/snow skins)
